Thread: 3.2 lore tome gear

I also find it silly that we have so many Primals to pull from to fit every "role" Ranged/Caster/Healer/Tank/Melee and they give us this?

I don't hate the gear, it looks good, and it looks well designed but the fact that Tank/Monk and Caster/Healer look like carbon copies with slight changes it's very annoying. I am also someone who ONLY plays mage classes. My main is SCH and my focused DPS class is SMN... but I also play WHM/AST & BLM... so SE is telling me all my lore gear is going to look exactly the same on all 5 of my chosen classes... I'm super disappointed to say the least. I was hoping that Caster DPS and Healer would get a different Primal. It's not like we don't have enough primals to use.

I'm sure like everyone else, I was incredibly excited to hear we were getting primal themed gear. Never before have I gone from so excited and happy to soooo disappointed so quickly over something SE has done ( though i'm sure it will happen again as I keep playing the game lol! )

I know carbon copy gear is something they always do. We've seen it with Second Coil, Final Coil, Alex, Dungeon Gear ( Aery, Library so on, list could go on forever ).... but when they say we're getting primal gear, WHY were so many primals ignored? They had so much rich lore and story to pull pieces from and all we got was Garuda, Ifrit, Levi and Shiva? I mean come on...

But to comment on it, I'm actually quite surprised that everyone is, well, surprised. As amusing as it was to see people speculate all the 2.0 primals (and some even hoped for HW primals) being represented by one job/one role, why would the devs stop using palette-swaps when they've been doing it for everything outside of artifact gear? You could probably count on one hand how many healer/caster sets are legitimately different outside of colors (Valerian, Eve/Daystar, Ironworks, Satasha/Cashmere sets and the animal-motiff PvP sets, off the top of my head), and the Arachne set doesn't count, they're the same model except the healers got curtains from the waist down.

You don't get disappointed when you don't get your hopes up (when it comes to new gear sets).

As for why DRG got a set all to themselves; I dunno, don't they normally share a set appearance with other jobs? I'm fairly sure I've seen them share with MNK once or twice, their Crystal Tower set looked like BRD's, and I even think they had some very similar sets to tanks (minus accents) once or twice. Not defending them though, honestly I usually pick up a "SE's aesthetic golden child" vibe from them a lot, what with the super-detailed AFs and basically being the poster job for the new expansion among other things.

You know they won't do this again, regarding 2.0 primals. Now they they've done this, there won't be enough primals for each job from 2.0. They'll likely only do this again once 4.0 hits, for 3.0 primals/trials ( thus far Bismark and Ravana, soon to add the not so Primal Sephirot ). Based on this gear primals will get ignored again anyway. It's not a good president.

Thus Moogle, Ramuh, Titan are to forever be neglected. Just guessing here, but if they wanted them included in the Eikonic it would be there now.

There is never enough moogle stuff ( lol sorry I love moogle ). Plus there is no more moogle stuff than any of the other primals IMO. They all have weapons, furniture and trophies in nearly equal proportion.
