I might get behind this. I only just got into PVP today after avoiding it for years. I feel extremely anxious in anything PvP related and with WHM being my main, I have double the pressure for trying to keep people alive and avoiding hate from the entire enemy team. Needless to say, PVP is so foreign to me.
If they will be the same quality as PvE Mentors I've met so far.... Then no.
FL is very RNG oriented but doable as a requirement, but the Fold is infamous for win-trading. I'd rather SE be a lot more careful when setting the criteria for PvP Mentors.
With that said. I believe that getting Gold/Diamond in Feast should be one of the requirements. As well as getting PvP rank 40-50 and a Set amount of wins in Feast. As I mentioned previously FLs is somewhat RNG oriented (You can queue as an alliance), but that might still be doable if SE keep the season rewards Solo queue only (Since Mentors will have to know how to win under any circumstance such as, being paired with lousy players by chance).
I'm still against this concept or rather, the potential trolling it invites. So I have to say if it is to be implemented, there has to be away for them to refuse Invitations (that doesn't involve also refusing tells, party invites and trade like /busy) In fact I;d go as far to say there should be a new icon/flag that specifically says you're available for Dueling. Also there should be a Map icon like Fates for Duels that players accept.Open world duels are all we really need. We can 1v1 seriously, "casuals" can do it just for fun, it puts PvP directly in the public eye if we're fighting outside sanctuaries, and it has far better utility for testing things than those worthless dummies in Wolves' Den Pier, since an actual player will run/stun/etc., plus you can watch others duel and learn something that way.
A "little" would still be a rather frivolous expense, relatively speaking. Hypothetically speaking Ubisoft could charge millions of dollars for SE to have the rights of the Assassins' cloak, millions that could be better spent on other projects (or improving on XIV). The reason crossovers tend to be with other works made by the same company outside fan-fic is because crossovers and copyrights tend to be expensive. Right now, all of XIV's crossovers are with other SE games (other Final Fantasy titles usually) and those are very few and far between.
I like crossovers as much as the next guy, but I think the budget has to be accounted for when considering crossovers with Non-SE properties (and Kingdom Hearts)

Isn't that exactly what I suggested in the second half of my post you just quoted?I'm still against this concept or rather, the potential trolling it invites. It would be quite nice to have PvP "Mentors" in the form of duels. It's not really the same thing as the Mentor system, but we could have a similar icon next to our names that says "This person PvPs and are willing to duel". It makes PvPers instantly recognizable and easy to find, and it would prevent PvE people being harassed for duels, since they'd need the "Mentor" thing to even be an option (similar to how you cannot challenge someone to a Triple Triad Tournament duel if they've not entered the Tournament).
