I would like post duty results. Performance assessment is a great tool in RPGs and Mmos. It is one of the small things that holds this game back from being great instead of just good. Hopefully we can see something like this in the future.

Not really fear mongering when you see it already in the game.
Shock horror! You mean its there already!? Without some kind of parser!?
You are afraid that if people can see their performance, they will actively try to improve it... and that jerks are going to be jerks, but the jerks are already in the game...
but yes, fear mongering.
What I am saying is we have no reason to show other people our stats, if I see I did bad, I will see it and try to improve myself. Cant say the same for everyone but guess what, if they don't want to do better having stats shown will not have them suddenly feel guilty and turn it around. Also, I would work on that sarcasm, kinda lacking.Shock horror! You mean its there already!? Without some kind of parser!?

The reason why showing other people is so that you can know if you did bad. If you get an arbitrary number. Let's say you are a SMN, "You did 2 million damage this run". Great? Now let's put some context in. The SCH did 1.6 million, the DRK did 3.5 million and the BRD did 4.2 million. As a SMN you probably should be the highest with your massive AoE in a dungeon, but you're sitting at almost half of the tank's damage. Okay, I think maybe were thinking 2 different things, I was looking more at percent of damage. In that case the Summoner would be seen sitting at about 20% of the total damage given which to my understanding the DPS together should be making at least like, 70%? With the Tank and Healer making up the remainder? Sorry maybe I was misunderstanding the idea that was going on.The reason why showing other people is so that you can know if you did bad. Simply due to keep the health of the community.
The moment you add a scoreboard to pve you change the entire aspect of the game.
I dont know if you know a MMO called DCUO, but they have a pve scoreboard that you can see at anytime during the instance as well as popping up at the end of the instance. Their community has also become known as the most toxic MMO communities of all time from several MMO articles and reviews.
If anything I would hate for FFXIV to fall down that path of destruction.
I have to agree with Yoshi's decision to keep a scoreboard out of pve. It is for the best.
I have heard of DCUO, I played it briefly on my PS4. That said, I think you may be mistaking causation and correlation. Is there any evidence to suggest that the scoreboard resulted in this community. I could argue that it may have to do with any number of other factors, i.e. DC Universe attracts a certain playerbase, F2P attracts a certain playerbase etc. etc.Simply due to keep the health of the community.

Personally, I have witnessed as much toxicity in games without parser support as with. Guild Wars 2 and FFXIV both blocked access to this, but people are still jerks. WoW embraced it and people were jerks. In all 3 games, there were a small subset of toxic players and a majority of friendly players.
DCUO is really no more or less toxic than here. The scoreboard over ther is an huge help in improving and evaluating your gameplay. But it is also a f2p game. What makes you think the board has more if an impact than f2p?Simply due to keep the health of the community.

By the way. Every game I have ever played has people on their forums claiming that game has the most toxic community, and I'm sure you can find several reviews and articles to back up each claim.
Downfall and destruction... there is so much fear mongering in every thread about numbers and feedback.
And how will you have any idea what the numbers mean without a metric to compare them to?What I am saying is we have no reason to show other people our stats, if I see I did bad, I will see it and try to improve myself.
