Game modification

So a while back i came across people who could modify there appearance in game

i seen pictures of it
but as far i know its client sided and not visible to other people and its undetectable from whats been told to me.

is stuff like that against the terms or not?
like does it go with the same rules as how Shaders and Sweet FX are accepted
use at own risk etc?

also since it client sided people don't see the change to your character so it doesn't really harm the gameplay

i just wanted some clarification on this subject

You can't dat. Swap in ffxiv and if you could then yes it would be against the terms of service, if you want to swap the appearance of gear use glamour, if you want to swap appearance of your character use Fantasia.

In most cases like this there are ways to use it to gain an unfair advantage over others, for example by swapping enemy visuals to make it more obvious what they're doing, or by swapping textures for scenery to give you a boost. So if you're found out, I imagine you'd be punished even if you're just giving yourself a cool-looking hat you can't be bothered to earn properly.

I have to admit that I don't personally understand the appeal anyway. Other people not being able to see the cool fashion ideas I come up with would rather take the fun out of them.

modifying the data is against the ToS but nobody knows what you're doing on your computer so you wouldn't be banned doing so, unless you brag about it on the internet with screenshots or something.

its not exactly dat swapping what they did

it was only like change the values of the body

i have seen people making there breasts bigger because the game normally dosnt allow it to and thats only visible to the person who uses it its called memory editing and its client sided from what i know

well the way they done it is not exactlly as how it went in XI

its more like changin stuff like the body like a bigger tail or even smaller length you know what i mean the stuff that the ccharacter creator dosnt allow us to do thats what they have been doing

Anything at all that reads or changes the data stream or data files is against the ToS and punishable by a ban, even if it's "just client side". Best not to do it, or discuss how it can be done.
