MGP for unidentified items

Why is this not a thing?
The unidentified items do a good job at using "alternative" methods to collect them, so why cant the gold saucer help out with this.
After picking up the fun items i wanted, im still swimming in coins with nothing to spend them on.

That's why. They won't want to add a grind item to use a currency that players could have massive stockpiles of.

I'd bet that's the reason. They don't want things to be too easy.

Same reason you can't just go up to a shopkeep NPC and buy them using gil.

You already have several ways of getting the unidentifiable items, so why do you need another one? MGP is for side things like cosmetics and it shouldn't be for actual battle progression.
