Bug report about Materia lost during maintenance

Steps:
I spoke to SGM "Rep Deitsu" in Istory about this issue and he asked me to post a bug Report here

I had in my inventory:
Raptorskin Satchel Belt x2 (both with no materia)
Manathirst Materia III x4

I melded the above belts with 2 materias each, with the following results:
- 1 Raptorskin Satchel Belt blew up and was lost
- 1 Raptorskin Satchel Belt succeeded in inserting a 2nd materia, I was able to see the new item details, MP+75, the Materia icon with the "2" on it

I logged out by selecting Log out from the menu (I was not kicked by the server not closed the game abruptly)

After servers came back up, I found the following in my inventory
- 1 Raptorskin Satchel Belt with only 1 materia inserted
- 0x Manathirst Manteria III


The fact that maintenance was so close surely must have triggered the issue, but the real bug here is:
The process of:
1- Delete Materia item from player inventory
2- Update item with new materia stats
...apparetnly is not an atomic transaction.
The game should make sure that, if for any reason the server doesn't save the new updated item properly, then the materia is not removed from the players inventory.

I also wouldn't mind having my 2-materia item or the materia itself refunded, but I guess that's not going to happen >_>
