Exactly my experience ( especially the FC part ) since alex savage dropped. Make a training PF and it will never fill up or people will leave after few wipes. Because of it, i took couple months break because honestly its rather depressing.

I came back 2 weeks ago and decided to try again to learn A1S and Thordan Ex and saddly its even worse. Now people dont even join, AT ALL.
I guess Thordan Ex will be the first Ex primal ill have to skip...

The funny thing is I had an FC in which people wanted to do things. So I set up a schedule for ex, for coil for alex for a variety of things. Built a website, had voice chat, helped people gear up and be ready. Everyone was happy happy. Then the time came to actually do something and maybe one and on the rare occasion two people would show up or be ready. I would try to accommodate my people, recruit new members, etc but it was hard to do, esp since no one wanted to help, they just wanted to complain there was "nothing to do".

If people who said they wanted to raid would be more willing to actually raid there would be a lot more raid pts and it would be a lot easier for casual or non raiders to get wins.

I spent so much time trying to make my FC work that I fell behind myself. I closed my FC and put it on an alt and have been looking for a group. Nope no one wants me because I am not caught up.

    It stinks.

For Primal fights like Thordan, a lot of it comes down to the lifespan of the content. Since they don't provide max-level weapons, they tend to be most in demand early in the patch when they're released. Most of the folks who are interested in clearing them will have done them in the first month and are certainly tired enough of them toward the end of the patch—making them less likely to want to go through the process of learning the fight with someone new. Players who haven't cleared them by this point in the cycle may also make the decision to wait for the addition of Duty Finder and/or nerfs, too, further shrinking the pool of players who might join a learning party.

If there were more incentive to revisit the EX primals (as we had in 2.1, for instance), there would probably be a lot more interest in them after the first month or so.

Yeah the only reason I did thordan ex was to get easy ilvl 205 weapons for the classes i didn't make my relic on. With 3.2 those weapons are going to be outdated in the upcoming week.

've got my Thordan EX Clear creating my own PFs for 3 weeks. It went from Learning to Learning post Meteors to Clear Party.

Knowing how to describe what you're looking for is very important:

One day I joined a Thordan party that said "Learning/Clear Party"

First thing I ask when we go into battle, is "Everyone seen meteors?"

Three guys were completely new to the fight, so I begin to teach them the ropes only to three tries later, the party leader disband the party "This is not going to work, this is not a clear party".

I actually have been doing A1S and Thordan learning with my FC on weekends for awhile now. My raid static typically runs on Tue/Wed/Thur and then on Fri/Sat/Sun (whenever people are available) we'll usually do some learning/clear attempts. The last time we went, we made it through KOTR5 on Thordan but didn't have the DPS to clear (there were some pugs in there with substandard performance, otherwise we probably could've). There's no official FC static at this time, but we do a lot of content together. Feel free to check us out if you'd like. It's a smaller FC but we're friendly, active, and pretty social. ^^

Well, the dev team already told us that you do not have had to complete savage gordias to access savage midas, so you can get in on some of the early learning parties and have the experience this time around.

This is part of the problem, a lot of people like to talk but don't like to 'do' very much. And it's the cause of static raids sticking to themselves more and more over time. If seven other people commit to doing something then you don't show up the day you have it planned with no warning, why would they want to try to keep making plans with you over and over again to be disappointed when they could just find a more reliable person and actually get things done? Your time may be valuable, but no more so then the other seven people, and that is something people tend to forget all too easily when they get so self absorbed and complain about no one helping them. In your case it seems like you did everything you could for this group of people but they weren't willing to respect the time and effort you put in, so hopefully with this next patch you have better luck getting yourself to where you want to be instead of letting them hold you back with their indifference.

Some people doesn't want to waste time helping other people out. Hence the experience needed PFs.. In contrast to the Japanese servers where majority of the players are willing to people help out each other. There was a video of an ffxiv podcast about this

I'm not saying NA/EU doesn't like to help people out, there are a couple of people who jumps in learning parties with a clear. But most players want to clear it because probably all their previous pf parties wasted too much time that made them block out inexperienced people

But there are some who avoid helping out like a plague because there are some (a lot) of newbies who just expected to be carried. In my server and I know someone who calls these as trap parties lol

Good thing you can do is ask your FC to help out and most of the time they're willing to form a group because of the bonus. Best thing is to form a static. Because honestly, you won't progress content as much as you think with just PF and DF.

Many of the statics forming for Midas want people with raid experience in alexander as a prerequisite, so how might a person like me, in my situation break this cycle? In order to get in a static for Midas I have to clear Alexander. In order to clear Alexander I have to have experience no bonus allowed. I don't have many friends on this server as is so how can i break this cycle? I read as much on my job and mechanics as possible and practice. I don't sneek into pf groups pretending to know the fight because i find that to be disrespectful to the recruitment leaders criteria. Maybe i wont ever get into end game raiding because of this barrier and should stick to crafting i dunno.

A lot of people should be coming back for patch 3.2 and might not require much prior alex exp. You can also try and make a LS of people in the same boat as you and go from there.
