Paralysis and Freezing status effects would be awesome as well! I like your suggestions. I use to main BLM but got fed up with it last year and switched over to SCH. Being that black mage is such a stationary class, it would've been nice if Surecast allowed movement while casting. As it is now I never use it really.

That's the thing, you don't have to and the other people don't need to as well, though for the people who want to then it would be something for them to do, I mean I don't mind wasting my time even if it is for something or nothing least I have a chance, instead of standing around doing absolutely nothing when I am done with everything.

instead of logging and going to play another game I could be attempting to get something or nothing at all, this doesn't effect the people who get frustrated they don't have to farm it.

Its a choice thing and even if you did want to try I mean think about it, basically its a luck thing and wouldn't be nice to at least get something else nobody has if it dropped.

I mean people would sell but people wouldn't sell and once they used it, it would be unsellable so cant say its like ffxi.

Fun fact: There are monsters that actually aggro from sound, but it's usually the blind ones like Kedtraps or Yarzons? Try it out!

What the above poster said! I just wanted to post below him because our characters have the same last name. Coincidences are fun.

    For Small Maps:
It's kind of a shame they remade the ARR maps to be so very small (for my tastes). ARR zones don't really feel like you're out on the wilderness and that anywhere you are there is civilization right next to you, but they certainly made the zones far more interesting than 1.0's zones.
Heavensward zones were quite an improvement but yes flying ruins how big they are pretty much and I don't know, I don't really like some of them, especially Coerthas Western Highlands (although the music for it is really good.) they seem to fell like very messily-made zones.
1.0 zones are about x4 or x5 times bigger than their ARR zone counterpart and the new Coerthas Western Highlands is only 1/3 of it's 1.0 counterpart (Just to give you a comparison between HW zones and 1.0 zones) but 1.0 zones don't really have any interesting landmarks so it's mostly full of emptiness, boring sanctuaries (almost every sanctuary looking like the same camp) and that the terrain is excessively copy-pasted. Although usually I think 1.0 zones seemed to feel much better than ARR zones. EDIT: Now I know why. Because they were seamless! The current zones being chopped down with loading screens just ruins it for me and makes the area feel too small.
I kind of liked how Black Shroud was a labyrinth before. More interesting approach than it is now, but sadly people didn't like it.

    For Easy Travel and Transportation:
There was a thread recently about teleportation ruining immersion but pretty much I agree with the rest that i'd rather have convenience. With unspoiled nodes and hunts that might take a couple minutes until it's done, I think we won't be seeing zones being ever difficult to travel. Although Dravanian Hinterlands has no Aetheryte in it at all (I think the only open world zone so far? and also my favorite zone because of that) so there might be hope.

However we won't be seeing much of real-time transportations because of how easy it is to access areas, people would seem to only do this for fun unless there's an incentive or a good reason to.

Also, White Mages always had access to other Elemental magic. Aero actually started out as a white magic spell.
Don't forget Conjurers are actually the "Elementalists" originally, and not the Thaumaturge. They used to have every elemental magic until Black Mage was added and then half were shared with Thaumaturge and removed their umbral/astral spells.

Why not add mor equipment sets with set boni. Maybe now traits for complete sets.

It feels a bit odd that only the GC equipment has set boni, small boni but they have.

I like how FFXIV gives a good choice of solo (including solo queue into DF) vs group content. I don't have time to always be waiting for other people to do content with.

See, that's why I think it'd be great to have Faction Leves from 1.0 return. How the system worked was you had 3 factions and every time you did a regular leve you got points towards one of them. When you got enough points, you could do a big leve with your linkshell (didn't have FCs then) and have a chance for rewards. YOU put in the effort and YOU get the rewards. I think it would be a great alternative to traditional FFXI style HNMs.

And for the other 5-10%, you'd just... do the same rotation but with the right element. The only times where it might possibly be interesting would be if you had mixed elemental resistances in the same pack.

Think about the other single-player FF games: elemental weaknesses basically never forced interesting choices, it just became 'equip this weapon to deal double the damage' or 'only use fire magic'. That's boring.
It wouldn't need to add skill bloat. For example, we already use a lot of stances and (borrowing from GW2 here) we could have 4 elemental stances. Each stance would change 5 skills on your hotbar (similar to how diurnal/nocturnal affect your skills). You then would have 20 skills on a total of 9 buttons.

These stances you could change in combat, and I'd have them follow roughly the following:
    1. GCD, low damage, basic attack i.e. Fire I
    2. 20 s CD, high damage, single target attack i.e. Fire IV
    3. GCD, aoe damage i.e. Fire II
    4. 60s CD, Armor, provides different effects by element - (Fire provides little defense but burns attacks, earth high defense, water/ice chills/heavies, air increases evasion) 10 s duration
    5. 120s CD Self-serving support buff, shares a CD between elements (i.e. fire = haste/ss, air/thunder = crit, water/ice = self heal or MP regen, earth = removes debuff)

Then have each element have the following effects:
    1. Fire causes burning, water causes dropsy, earth causes bleeding, thunder causes shock, ice causes chill
    2. When a mob is weak to an element and its status effect has been applied, all elemental damage received will hit for the weakness bonus (i.e. if weak to fire, you cast an Ice spell while it is burning, it takes the extra weakness modifier)
    3. Have the elemental debuffs affect other spells. For example, a bleeding enemy who has been hit by
a water attack will bleed faster (higher potency per tick on bleed)
a fire attack will be cauterized (instant damage equal to the amount of both bleeding + burning debuff)
a thunder attack will result in extra thunder damage per spell

This will result in various best methods depending on the weakness of the mob and your party composition. For example, 1 BLM would apply bleeding with earth, the next BLM would use water to increase the dot potency, then both BLMs would use thunder. However, if there was a single BLM it would be better to use earth for bleeding, water to increase potency, and then fire to cauterize and repeat.

This is all just a random idea that is in part taken from Elementalist in GW2 (mostly the first bit)

    Players not being asses
Players often trolling and being asses affect others' gameplay, because this is an MMO. If we all gave a bit of good humour I am sure the game would be even more enjoyable.

Some things in games do not depend on DEVs
