Regardless of whether or not it should have been cleansed, that's just bad tanking man.
I haven't been playing this game nearly as long as many of you guys have and I'm not at end-game (I don't even have Heavensward yet), but when I use Berserk, it's knowing that I'm going to be using a couple non-weapon skills after it wears off. I feel that because it's my ability I'm using and I'm in full control of my character, I should be responsible for the pacification.
If I ever get to a point where I'm playing with a static and my healer *wants* to know when I use berserk, I'll create a macro for it. Otherwise, I feel like I would be bothering the people I'm playing with.
Never rely on anyone. Expect a level of competence that they can handle their portion of the fight but don't rely on anyone else to keep your ass out of a bad situation. Know the fight and plan accordingly so that you're never caught with your pants down. Then you're pleasantly surprised when you're having them go out of their way to makes things easier instead of being surprised because you couldn't get that IB off for the Tank Buster and are instead tanking the floor like a DRG.
True, but i'm one of those people that likes to think the best of others. If i can take the time to do things properly i'd like to think others can too xDNever rely on anyone. It's fine to rely on your team, but the problem here is that you're taking unnecessary risk (see my previous post) and expect your healer to cancel out that risk you could've avoided in the first place.
Not to mention, if it's something that would one shot you without IB, but you can survive with IB, it's probably a good idea to stack other cds as well (thrill, venge, raw intuition etc), since that means even with IB you will be left with less than 20% of your hp.
