Fun Discussion: Add-On/Expansion of the current Races

I apologize...I forgot that people can't have fun on these forums.
I also forgot that it's a venial sin to suggest anything.

The whole concept that obviously was missed is...IF you could and it would RETCON the racial Lore so it would make sense.

Yoshida even said that we won't get Veira or similar races because they would be Miq'ote but with bunny features.
Which made me think...why not just make Miq'ote into an animal race?

I apologize for wanting to have a for fun conversation.

Take it easy there Defias. Nothing wrong with making suggestions, but you have to be prepared for people to disagree. You asked in your post "Thoughts opinions? Would you like my changes?" and people answered. Some of us maybe a little too truthfully, but that's the nature of discussions.

Being passive-aggressive and saying everyone just hates fun for not liking your ideas doesn't exactly endear you or your ideas to anyone. No one here misunderstood the premise, either. We just don't care for the ideas. It is not some attack on you personally.

If you dislike my ideas. That is fine...you don't have to like it...so tell me What is YOUR idea?
What would YOU change/addon?
Or in other words...at least contribute.

It gets frustrating when myself (and others) try to make a fun topic and we get blasted into oblivion.
Then people turn around and say these forums are filled with negativity.
In game I have friends who often say: "It'd be great to have a tail again.", "My only complaint...we're really all rehashed of FFXIV races.", "Wish we had gotten Veira and not Au'Ra."
"Veira wouldn't work. They'd be Miq'ote clones."

Which is what spawned this topic.

I'm not posting a: Change the races. I hate them topic. Or complaining.

Honestly...this community tends to attack people rather frequently.
Aggression is often the only way to get a point across and/or nip things in the bud.

That said I am legitimately sorry I posted. I feel like an idiot for sharing.

My idea is this:

I actually don't want any new playable races until the existing races have their options expanded. By that, however, I mean expanded in a reasonable manner - they don't need to suddenly get all sorts of weird traits. We just need new base faces and a variety of new scars/facial features

or if you're asking what my idea for a new race is: don't have one. I'm not an artist or a game designer. Not my job. Though I don't see how just functionally adding in the viera but saying they're "sub-race options for Seekers" is any different than simply adding them (which I am not in favor of). I don't know exactly what persecution complex you have, but you're not being "blasted into oblivion". You asked for feedback and are getting feedback. If you don't like the answers you get, then oh well. Making baseless accusations about what people read or understand also doesn't help your case.

The thing is that, from what I've seen, it looks more like mutilating rather than fun. Kind of like if you went to some random forum that deals with real life and started a discussion along the lines wouldn't it be cool to put lizard tails on humans? I mean, ok, that is a bit of a cool idea, but I think I'd rather keep tails on lizards than humans.
They will probably introduce new races with certain features you might have mentioned because after all, this is a fantasy.
Now whether they should make new races or work on the existing ones is for another discussion that is going on atm.

EDIT: If you want to play a race with a tail, choose a race with a tail. I like elven ears but I don't think I'd add them on my Au Ra. Just doesn't fit. Tails don't fit Roes either.

Haven't been keeping up on all my FFXIV news for awhile because I have been taking a semi-break from playing it outside of raiding for awhile now (whereas once I gobbled up every bit and byte of news I could find), but when did they show this? I know it's from the FATE in Tokyo thing but I don't remember them ever showing this on the forums with a Q&A type thing like they usually do. I love my kitty, but I swear to whatever deity that canine race would worship I would race switch so fast and leave C'desh in a box out in the rain to be that.

Holy sh.., that's Kelger! I would switch in a flash. Always wanted a race that looked more beast than human.

These were shown around the same time as Viera I believe, and it was explained that both viera and this canine race were left for later and Au'Ra were used because both the Viera and canine models would need a lot of extra work to get leg and foot gear to fit them properly since they have non-human feet and leg shapes.
