Every single aspect of life has to have a way to be quantified. The Mentoring system is no different. Graduating college doesn't necessarily mean you'll make a good astrophysicist. Dropping out of high school doesn't necessarily mean you aren't mentally intelligent enough to be a heart surgeon. But there are things called "standards" that us adults have to abide by. Standards are quantifiable aspects of life...they are numbers we are expected to achieve in order to gauge our aptitude in the eyes of our superiors. It's just life, and you have to accept it for what it is. You may be the biggest braniac in the world, but if you couldn't get yourself through high school and college, the people would have every right to question your resolve.
