    Or that you primarily ran dungeons with a fully or mostly pre-formed team, which also doesn't really promote you when it comes to mentoring ^^;

*cough* and the corresponding 'junior' term is kôhai, not hôkai, unless I'm completely out of the loop ^^; bugged me just as much as the sempai thing

Yeah man I can totally skip an entire 30 levels of healing by starting Astrologian and get 3 buddies to complete maximum level leves for me within 20secs while I stand at the levemete and do nothing and get all those level ups.

Then proceed to go to Coerthas and level with buddies, spam Helios and get full credit. Then go to NT with buddies, spam Helios and get full credit. Then go to HW areas with buddies, spam Gravity and get full credit. Once I hit that 60 I'm a full-fledged mentor. But don't worry I'm the only player thinking about this.

I personally typed the wrong terms of those words as pure sarcasm because people are taking these mentor requirements too seriously. I was a Mentor before they added a system and nothing will change because there is basically no reward for doing it other than "Kindness" There is no special mount or item even worth putting up with some of the new and mediocre players "Defensive, Don't Tell me how to play! I pay for this game so I play my own way!" attitudes, unless you genuinely are a helpful person in the first place.
The Mentor System is not going to be some abused system nor do I feel it's even worth someone going out of their way to troll or abuse it and very few people will with all the new content coming out.
The System is only going to show people who are willing to put up with you in the first place because "We all know how helpful this community really is (Sarcasm)".

    Precisely.

I believe, that when Mentoring is released, all of the people who are not on the forums or didn't know about the requirements WILL do everything they can to get them as fast as possible.

    It'll go both ways.

-There's the people who are honestly trying to help and will be great mentors who just want the system and will exploit the heck outta the requirements.
-Then the bad people who are there to troll or for rewards simply and don't care for anything about mentoring who will also abuse the system much as possible.

To look down on the good people abusing the system is wrong because it's all they have. All they got, to get the mentoring system.

    Expect to see this:
    -massive FATE farming
    -leve farming
-Influx of ASTs, DRKs, and MCHs using these to skip 30 levels into 60
-People leveling SCH/SMN to get the DPS and Healer lv60 requirement
-Ifrit(NM) farming(nerf that and people will go to the next fastest)
-Guildhest farming as tank/healer to get easy commendations

We really need this mentor system. Nothing saddens me, but to see a bard in ramuh hm that does nothing but wide volley and quick nock with zero dots, or in dungeons you try to teach something only being kicked or replied back by "i play however i want".
If person doesnt know how to use dots as bard on lv50, i can only imagine how painful it was to those who ran dungeons with that bard at start...

Not everyone is meant to be mentor, so if you cant meet the requirements, do something about it, but be aware that being fate zombie wont help you gain knowledge about the job, nor make you a good mentor. Requirements are fine, those who meet them legit hopefully know their stuff. I on other hand cant wait to mentor in dungeons, especially bards. Current lv60 bards are nothing but jokes either spamming wide volley on everything or single targeting in big pulls.

Please STOP making an amalgame between hving the requirements to be a Mentor and being actually CAPABLE of mentoring.

Consider that the requirements are reasonable enough to have already been met, and if not, easy to achieve. On top of that, for anyone truly interested in helping people, rewards and exploitation of the system are equally not a concern. Someone who fate farms a 60 job/role won't be nearly as solid/knowledgeable as someone who actively played and learned that job/role, and it will be quite obvious from the moment a mentor might say "uh I dunno actually. I just leveled this job to become a mentor" And if they try to bluff, like I said in the other thread, trust but verify.

The fear-mongering really needs to stop. The system is rather foolproof. Reward farmer? There won't be much (initially). Rushed requirements? Low experience to teach with. Bad mentor? Other mentors, guides, FRIENDS, and resources available. Stubborn student? The School of Hard Knocks will teach them instead. Overnight job/role experts? 2-3 year veterans.

There is literally no cause for concern here anymore.
