    Toggle Pet Hotbar via Macro

Is there a way to toggle the pet hotbar via a macro? The purposes would be to toggle a hotbar to off that my other classes use and toggle on the pet hotbar in it's place. This way when I switch classes I just need to use this one macro and not have to navigate the menus. I've tried variations of /hud and /hotbar and haven't been able to find a combination.

I'm not sure of ways to permanent tly disable the actual pet hotbar from showing. Getting one of your hotbars to show a pet hotbar look alike is easy, though it takes a bit of macro writing.

Basically each action in the pet hotbar can also be placed as an icon in any regular hotbar. For your purpose, you'd need one macro for every different pet and either many spare hotbars to spare, or a bit of patience for macro writing. I can't give exact lines now as I'm not on my game but here is the gist of it.

Easy way, if you only use one pet usually, is to pick a spare hotbar you have (maybe one of those class specific ones you are not using when you have jobs) and make it have all the actions of pet action bar. Just drag them there from the pet page from your ability list. Then in your pet summoning macro you use

    /hotbar copy ACN 2 SMN 4

Assuming you used arcanist bar 2 as that pets line and you want to put it to your summoner 4 bar.

The hard way is to make macro that places each action one by one on the bar you want, with

/hotbar pet "action name" "pet name" [#1] [#2]
Set the specified pet action to slot [#2] in hotbar [#1].

My apologyes if there is slight syntax mistakes as I can't test that now. But that should at least set you on the path.

Note, since both if these methods are actually replicateng the pet hotbar, instead of using the actual pet hotbar, you are free to cherry pick which of the pet actions you need on your bars, and which you never touch anyway, potentially freeing space for few other actions.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

Thanks for the info Sida! But, what I'm looking to do is toggle the pet bar on and off as part of a macro to toggle another hotbar. For instance, when I switch to my SCH/SMN I'd like to turn one hotbar off and turn the pet hotbar on as they are in the same location. Then, when I switch to say my BLM, I'd use it to turn off the pet hotbar and turn the regular one on.

I know what you meant but I'm not sure if that is possible. That is why my suggestion was a workaround. Instead of using the actual pet hotbar in that location, you turn it permanently off (if that is possible) and use the pet hotbar skills in regular hotbar, which can be macroed to that same hotbar placement you were using on the other class. Effectively you'd get the same result, except maybe for keyboard bindings if you were used to use those for the pet bar. Thinking outside of the box thing ^^

I'll try and give it a whirl. The other reason I failed to mention in wanting the hot bar up is to visual see when the cool downs were up. I'm not sure how long they are as I haven't been playing the job for too long but, visually being able to see when specific cool downs are up is helpful. I'll just go with manually toggling the hot bars and assigning them to my cross hotbar. Thanks!

If you place the pet skills to your hot bar (or cross hotbar) the skill icons work exactly the same as they work in the pet hotbar, showing cooldown graphic and tooltip. I'm not suggesting creating macros for each skill, but placing the actual pet skills to your bar with the macro. You can do this manually too by going to your ability menu, selecting category "pet" and, on pc dragging the icons to hotbar. I don't know how it works on a controller but I assume you select the skill and tell where you want it placed. Same as for your regular class or job skills anyway.

I'll make you an example macro when I get on real keyboard. What is the number of the hotbar you would have wanted to toggle of in your earlier question? I assume it was one of the normal bar you had viewing just for cooldowns?

I'd use the same hotbar for both, just set it to be class/job specific, so that it can hold pet skills for ARC/SCH/SUM, and other skills for other classes.

If you play by controller on either PS4 or PC and want the cross-hotbars for actions, but still want visibility, you can place a copy of your pet skills (or whatever else has cooldowns you want visible) on a regular straight hotbar just to keep their cooldowns on display while your active crossbar has other skills. (It doesn't work with PS3, though, which doesn't have the straight keyboard-style hotbars.) It takes care of the issue crossbars have of only having 16 slots visible at a time. Just be sure they're on a class/job specific hotbar, so they're there only when playing ACN/SCH/SUM.

Despite what the Name may Suggest, Pet Hotbar is a HUD Element

Through trial and error, the '/hotbar' macro type appears limited to using numerical conditions. However, the '/hud' type allows for typed elements like 'Duty List', etc.

    Try:

    /hud "Pet Hotbar" off

in your macro. It worked for me

P.S. for positional changes in the location of the pet hotbar element based on job, you may want to copy your existing HUD layout to any other available HUD profile (you should have three additional); move the desired element(s) in that alternate HUD profile; create a job change macro that switches any pet-based job to that HUD profile.

I hide whole pet hotbar entirely. They are entirely useless to be honest. Keybind the place the pet, follow and sic and you can forget about the hotbar. Since ShB they changed all pet abilities into normal abilities, so you only have the basic pet commands on the hotbar but only 3 are relevant and you don't even need to see them because they are not GCD and they don't have any CD. So I suggest to just hide the whole pet hotbar and bind them to buttons. If you really want to see those commands, you can pull those unto normal hotbar too.

    This one works!

    In the macro use:

    /hud "Pet Hotbar" toggle

This will turn it either on or off. I use the hud and hotbar display commands to hide most of my UI without completely hiding the entire thing when doing anything I want less clutter for.
