If I do use one it's never the full name of said character. I'll mix and match names. One of my alts that I rarely touch is Shōyō taken from Haikyuu!!.

While not an anime name, my lady Roe's name seems to make folks happy when they recognize it from the video game - which isn't all that often. I've used it for many single player character names because it's ridiculous and I love it. Lucky me, it fit lore for a Hellsguard and was available when I made her ages ago. Alas, it seems the majority in this thread would hate my Tiger Festival on principle.

Not gonna lie, I was tempted to make a parody OC (don't steal) name Remyla Firetruckred. But I figured paying $10 for a joke that maybe a small handful would get wasn't worth it. So I just went with Remilia, it's a pretty name. And it's French-ish and I was an elf at the time so it fit...ish.

If I watched more anime, this would probably bother me, but I don't recognize most of the character names.

I get really salty when I see someone use a name from Greek mythology or history that's misspelled, though.

I can understand the appeal.
Nothing makes me happier seeing someone with a proper Japa- er .. Auri name. One that makes sense and everything!
I mean honestly when I was younger, of course every character I made had a fake Japanese name. If you are an anime fan that creates characters you did it too, don't lie. Obviously, I know better now, probably best to give Japanese names to Japanese characters and not your fairy Mary Sue OC from Supernatural or MLP or something but...whatever. You get the idea.
Funnily enough lots of Japanese western media fans do the same...but with English and French names.

On topic again I probably wouldn't speak to any Kirito because I find SAO awful but that's just me. cough

other people's names don't bother me in the slightest. I don't see much of a reason to really care enough to let something so small affect me in any way, if that person likes it, kudos.
