I wouldn't be surprised if DPS players because tanks, healers, or ignored the content altogether. As a NIN, I have the mentality that if I press my buttons harder and faster, I'd push more dps. This mentality causes fatigue, then I start messing up pretty bad lol...

If you're jealous of the ability to mod, then just switch to PC. If this game can run on PS3 it sure as hell can run on whatever toaster you have lying around the house.

So the dummies are like Faust, you just smash it from behind without any mechanics that includes dodging, interrupting or position switching?

Not very useful in my book.

We have already guildhest to learn mechanics.

Just run every 15 sec away and back to simulate AoE dodging.

But yes, dummies that can fight back will be nice.

Why didnt they add this as a feature on the regular striking dummies is beyond me.
Because well thats what it is, glorified Striking dummies put in an instance.
Resources and time that could have been used for something more useful, like making separate lore sets for healers and casters. ( But thats another story )

    We have those.

    They're called mobs.

Or not really figh back, but use mechanics with a point system

    example:
Dummy put an AoE field on the ground. Not moving out of it in time will cause a point malus
Dummy duplicate himself. Not killing the duplicate in time will cause a point malus

I'm willing to see how this plays out.

I've known a lot of players out believed they were performing well in terms of DPS that ultimately weren't. They can sometimes be difficult to coach, but their personalities will probably drive them to complete the dummy tests. When they can't, it's my hope that they'll seek out ways to play better. I don't know that this will actually have that effect, but I think it's possible.

So I'll wait and see before passing judgement on it.

Can't wait until people release videos on "How to beat Stone-Sky-Sea Stage X" and nobody learns anything but how to parrot a video for small time frame.

If you really need a video on how to beat a dummy optimally, methinks you got bigger problems.
