    Computer Random freezing crashes

I can barely even play this game put setting to low done every update to drivers I can and nothing seem's to help the random freezing where I have to force shutdown my pc. My computer can handle pretty much any other game except this one for some strange reason here the info hopefully when v2.0 comes out this issue will go away because atm I'm done trying to figure out why this keep happening just to this game and not other's.

Please run dxdiag and post it here, also bit more detail on what's running while you're playing FFXIV.

You can also try these forums:
    http://en.community.dell.com/owners-...re/f/3746.aspx
    http://alienwarearena.com/

I've read many times Alienware has issues with games because of Dells laziness in poor driver/temperature control/bios support etc... So other alienware users may be able to help out more if members here can't once you give a bit more info.

Wow so your computer is freezing up in its entirety? When it freezes up do you still hear audio from the game? Also are you using full screen or windowed mode? Some games(like this) require a lot more from the gfx cards. And the way ATI cards react when they are under high stress(getting hot) is it resets the video driver. This results in the screen either freezing solid, or going black. Newer models seem to tend towards the former. Anytime i have a driver lockup like that, in windows 7, i just ctrl+alt+del, which usually pulls me out of the game, and i can go back to it and shut it down, cause it will be locked up. I'm not sure if a solution could be made here. With these issues, assuming its load/heat issues, only thing you can do is turn settings down on the game, and/or get better airflow for the GFX card.

No the audio does a weird sound not regular it totally freezes my computer even ctrl alt delete option is unavailable I have to force shutdown my pc. In game I've put my fps down to 30 and and its even in window mode so I could check to see the temp of my computer and turn up my fan's to keep it cool as much as possible on I remember before the fps control function it was like 79 degrees with 30 it went down alot.

Interesting I havent had that kinda of GFX hang in awhile. At least not sense my X800xt. It sounds like the GFX card itself is shutting down, and causing the whole OS to hang. It can still be overheating tho, very good chance. Back when I had alot of issues with this, I set up my GFX fan to 100%, back then i had to use ATItool, but I'm pretty sure the newer drivers let ya do that now. Another concern, which i really hope it isn't it, would be a power issue. Its common for the OS to freeze in this manner if there is a sudden loss of power to any random component due to a PSU not being able to provide power during a full load situation. I wonder what kind of PSU it has in that comp. I'd expect a reputable company such as alienware to insure the PSU they put in a comp can easily meet the demands of the rest of the computer, under full load..

Well first thing you can try is updating your Graphics drivers to the newer 9/28/2011 ones. Depending on what you mean as other games (if they are other graphically intensive games on high settings) it probably isn't a heat issue. Try the drivers update and get back with us.
