Who be insultin' this game's music?!
It have some good trackz, like uhh Ramuh and Bismarck themes. Those are good. The rock does get a little boring from time to time, those make up for it.

Ramuh is good but the start makes me wanna cover my ears other than that the lyrics are nice.
I honestly like most of the music in this game. The only exception to this is Shiva's second theme which I feel is a very jarring contrast to her aesthetics, personality and the first theme. The new music is one of the things I look forward to the most in each new patch.

There is a reason why the music change so drasticaly. The first theme talks about Ysayle's idea of Shiva ( being this powerfull ice queen, tec ). The second theme referes too Ysayle herself, and her feelings.I honestly like most of the music in this game. So many people say. Personally I believe that it didn't fit at all - and that it was, perhaps, just a stray experiment to try out a new style of music. Type-0 has a lot of 'rock' music and it's awesome. Lyrical rock, however, can very easily just come across as noise - especially if the quality of the singing is dubious. Out of game, on the 'enhanced' version, it sounds more tolerable - but the in-game version lacks the same bite in my opinion.

I could not possibly disagree more. The nasal chanting is very distinct and attractive, it's the rest of the song with the singer singing in Engrish (not the Sylphic) that falls flat, as most Engrish does. Yes, that includes Persona 3 and 4's Engrish. Sorry. They're good because of the catchy music, not the absurd vocals.
I was honestly hoping it would stay more nasal and choral and they would go for an Ar tonelico/noSurge style of battle theme. We're definitely missing one of those, especially since they're pretty much universally acclaimed.
(I totally don't see the point of insulting Soken though? Because seriously, he does some amazing work and I'm of mind that Uematsu hasn't put an entire soundtrack above "average" in about 15 years, with only a few singular hits here and there. Lots of nostalgia speaking when it comes to Uematsu and lots of knee jerking when it comes to Soken. I never really saw this type of hate for composers on XI's forums; Mizuta is damn good, too and certainly doesn't deserve it, either way.)

I agree; the song overall probably would have been much better if it were entirely in Sylphic. The Engrish isn't good, but it doesn't detract from it too much IMO because it keeps that mystical, old-timey feel (pronunciation wasn't the same as it is now).
People are just putting on their nostalgia goggles for Uematsu's work. A lot of it is memorable, but to complain Soken is butchering his work with remixes... you must not have set foot into Syrcus Tower. It's amazing what 20 years, hardware updates, and a new vision can breathe into chiptune music. Plus the vast majority of the music in-game now is original work of Soken's (I think Ifrit's theme, Primal Judgment, and remixes of old songs are the only songs that aren't his own), and while it can be hit and miss at times, looking back on Uematsu's work without the nostalgia filter it's about as good.
Back on point - I need more context for the last scene with Hydaelyn. Based on the images it seems to take place after the scene with Minfilia in front of the Crystal, and in fact it could be Minfilia who disappears into the light we see in that scene. Can't tell what's going on - Hydaelyn speaking through Minfilia, perhaps, and appearing before us in her true crystal form only in meta world? Aaagh, the suspense is... well, not killing me, but irritating me.

You like the part where a woman is screaming YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHHHH or whatever at the start, we are talking about the same part right? Because that's what I mean when I say RIGHT at the start. People like hearing that? More power to yah if you like the first 5 seconds to be the best part I guess.I could not possibly disagree more. I am just curious why there is a (large) black coeurl minion in one of the Midas fights....
