Yeah, it was pretty clear Aymeric wasn't intended to die. I admit that I kinda hoping he was out of it for more than one scene, though and was, you know, actually truly wounded. That was one of my bigger 3.1 story irritations.

It was just an attention grabber in the trailer, same as the fire with Raubahn. I think they're trying to establish a threat, but it's hard when they're so incompetent that Aymeric (or, more realistically, Aymeric is shown as so superhuman) is out fighting with you 3 quests later. Way to totally neutralize any credibility they may have gained.

I'm hoping, but not really expecting, Aymeric's wound to be a recurring thing. Please let getting stabbed in the ribs have some sort of negative consequence when you immediately get up and run around afterwards.

Then again it did look like a standard culinary knife and if our DoH tools are anything to go by it wouldn't have done much damage, eh?

Yeah, I would think his armor would have protected him from that. Aside from the fact the knife looked like a regular kitchen knife, he was stabbed by a regular civilian. If it was a trained assassin I can understand ... but it was not

He was still stabbed. Flesh was stated to be broken. Armor may have nullified part of the force so it didn't penetrate as deeply, but he still shouldn't have been running around fighting afterwards.

It stops being "just a flesh wound" when the dagger is sitting there embedded in your skin.

Ishgard has chirurgeons as well as knights with basic knowledge of conjury so it's not surprising at all. Especially since Moenbryda was able to move about (albeit greatly strained) moments after An Ascien blasted her gut and she didn't receive immediate medical attention as far as I know

That was my own gripe with it as well. That he recovers from a stabbing with a simple kitchen knife I can believe (though even that can go south fast if someone hits something vital, but that I digress) but that we are fighting side by side a little later.... not so much. Ah well. I did enjoy fighting along side him.

I had forgotten about the snow=death thing. But I don't know whether that 'sad (depressing) scene in the rain' that it is now is any better. It was a bit jarring to be honest. And if they wanted us to think him dead/gravely injured, a little light snow might now have been a bad thing.

I do hope it comes back in some way. If only so that he has to sit out an important battle. Anything, really. But please don't die.

Ishgard does have chiruregons, so Amyeric being up and about after getting shanked (with a butter knife, by a civvie) isn't too much of a stretch. Remember, our rush to find the last of the hostages in the Vault was timed on how long he could keep himself up in single combat with Elezen McDouchebag, thanks to his wound.

Well, I think I'm going to bow out of these topics and just wait one more day. (or ~12 hours for me.) The tension's so thick I could cut it with a butter knife!

It's also worth noting that it's his second 'near miss' and if he hadn't run off to confront Thordan we probably wouldn't have lost Haurchefant. It's a little bizarre that Ser Zephirin gets all the blame for Haurchefant's demise. Last time Aymeric ran off to take matters into his own hands a major character perished. So that he was injured and ran off again to fight didn't sit well with me.
