    Pull Macro for most tanks.

I thought I'd pitch in here and post my pull macro. It marks the number above my character so people can see it and it also comes with sound notifications.
    No hate please ^_^

    Code:
    /p Pulling in 15! <se.2>
    /wait 10
    /p 5. <se.3>
    /mk attack5 <me> <wait.1>
    /p 4. <se.3>
    /mk attack4 <me> <wait.1>
    /p 3. <se.3>
    /mk attack3 <me> <wait.1>
    /p 2. <se.3>
    /mk attack2 <me> <wait.1>
    /p 1. <se.3>
    /mk attack1 <me> <wait.1>
/p Here goes nothing! PULLING! <se.4>

You want notification points at generally 12 or 10(for foe) and 7s(pre casts of shadow flare) as well.

(super serious)I don't know what to put here so I've put this here as a placeholder until I figure it out.(super serious)

I have one for bosses in large group content (8m and 24m) that changes the boss' target marker to show the countdown. Gotten a couple compliments on it, but it's useless in any situation where you might need to mark adds.

15s is a long wait. Unless you're doing hunts, people probably aren't going to wait that long for you to pull. The one I mentioned is only 5s long, and even then, people tend to cut it off (because DPS like to feel important by being the first one to hit the boss or something).

15 is not so long XD
Since the best is 12 for bard
I tend to like between 12 and 8 sec long
(Adlo + mana tick + shadowflare)

5sec is way to short w,w
Plus most people tank incluses run at 2 instead of pull

Could you paste that macro here? That sort of macro sounds handy for having everyone fire the cannons at the same time for a certain main story quest as well.

This sort of pull macros only work if everyone is on the same page about them. I have seen their sort in use before and couldn't see the reason, except for the tank wanting to be cute/feel important. I only recently understood due some other thread here that they are, indeed, for maximisers to prepare their big cannons, so to speak, but not near everyone in basic DF content is end game raider and even those who try to play their class reasonably decently don't necessarily see things the same way with min/maxers.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

I think the biggest reason why these macros would be helpful is so people don't jump the gun. It's not as much of a problem as it used to be, but in leveling content especially, if the tank doesn't get the first hit off, there's a good chance they'll be struggling for hate for the rest of the encounter.

    Anyway, my macro is:
    /merror off
    Pulling <t> in 5!
    /wait 1
    Pulling <t> in 4!
    /wait 1
    /mk attack3 <t>
    Pulling <t> in 3! <se.10>
    /wait 1
    /mk attack2 <t>
    Pulling <t> in 2! <se.10><se.10>
    /wait 1
    /mk attack1 <t>
    Pulling <t> in 1! <se.10><se.10><se.10>
    /wait 1
    /mk cross <t>
Feel free to adjust times and markers and text as needed.

EDIT: Also, given how many people seem to jump the gun anyway, I only tend to use this macro sparingly.

It's also useful for coordinating interactions--not as synchronous as the duty clock, maybe, but allows people to do the thing without having to look away from the action. Add <f> before the <wait> if you want to use it on focus target; this is necessary if you need to interact with something yourself.

    Code:
    /enemysign square <wait.1>
    /enemysign square <wait.1>
    /enemysign attack5 <wait.1>
    /enemysign attack4 <wait.1>
    /enemysign attack3 <wait.1>
    /enemysign attack2 <wait.1>
    /enemysign attack1 <wait.1>
    /enemysign circle <wait.1>
    /enemysign circle
Flashes a square, then counts down to a circle.

Out of raid, the only real reason for a pull macro is to let the DPS know when you're gonna pull. Otherwise they have to guess and end up behind the eight ball. This is especially annoying with any caster class who suddenly loses the ability to pre-cast anything, since you can't anticipate when the fight will start, so you either end up late (which doesn't matter, since it's not raid lol) or you pull instead, which can have catastrophically bad effects (I don't recommend doing this, esp with DF tanks). I'd only use a 3-5 second macro in dungeons or Alex Normal, though. Anything more than that is silly if you're not doing a coordinated speedrun.

    That said, my pull macro:
    Code:
    /macrolock
    /p Pulling in 15 <se.6>
    /wait 5
    /p Pulling in 10
    /wait 5
    /p Pulling in 5 <wait.1>
    /p 4 <wait.1>
    /p 3 <se.5><wait.1>
    /p 2 <se.5><wait.1>
    /p 1 <se.5><wait.1>
    /p Pulling! <se.6>
Nothing too special outside of the /macrolock at the start, that keeps me from accidentally breaking the macro by fiddling with my hud. I've done it before and caused someone to waste buffs, since they were assuming 15s from the click. x)
