I recently got to level 50 and am now doing the 100 quests before Heavensward. Is it worth it to farm poetics and other tomes for the ironworks gear or just ignore it?

"Worth it" is relative.
- It is fairly easy and will mean you don't need new gear until around level 55/56, so you should be able to breeze through the first several Heavensward dungeons.
- If you grind out levels quickly though, you may spend less time with the ironworks equipment than you spent getting it.
- Finishing those quests before Heavensward (specifically Chrysalis and Steps Of Faith) is definitely easier with the ironworks gear.
Overall I'd say for your first class at least get the weapon and some of the major armor pieces. It will make finishing ARR easier and mean you don't have to worry about gear drops for a while.
With 3.2 they are throwing out soldiery completely, so I'd expect poetics to just be getting thrown at you.
The ability to either earn Soldiery or to use it for anything except conversion to Poetics was already thrown out back when 3.0 released. All that's changing there in 3.2 is that the time for converting your old leftovers from a year ago is expiring.
Thank you for the information.
What would you say is the best way to farm poetics for a fresh lvl 50??
Basically just do your daily doulette and work towards unlocking your lv 50 roulette to.You get Poetic bonuses for the fitst time clear and their are 17 under it.So you should get a decent amount from just first time clears. Also Hard mode trials drop them to which you will be forced to do anyway because of the story.
Too bad they quit giving tomestome rewards to level-capped 50 characters in the leveling roulette. The Main Scenario Roulette is now the only one a fresh 50 can get Poetics from, and it only has the two dungeons included in it, so not something I'd want to do on a daily basis. That's why I collected most of my Poetics from Hunts. Though there are several individual level 50 dungeons and trials that give Poetics rewards, they don't give anywhere near as much as a Roulette or an S rank hunt. (Most dungeons that have a Poetics reward are roughly comparable to a single A rank hunt, but take a lot longer.)Basically just do your daily roulette and work towards unlocking your lv 50 roulette to.You get Poetic bonuses for the fitst time clear and their are 17 under it.So you should get a decent amount from just first time clears. Also Hard mode trials drop them to which you will be forced to do anyway because of the story.
Do work towards unlocking the Level 50 Roulette, though. That will eventually become another good source. It's just that it doesn't unlock until you've completed all 17 duties individually first.
Honestly, I wouldn't spend time to farm specifically for it.
Use whatever poetics you do have from going along main scenario to buy some pieces (Priority on weapon), and then continue along the HW main scenario. The gear handed out by the HW main scenario is worse (i115/i125 for level 50/52) until about level 54 (i133), but it's still extremely easy to progress quickly with that gear.
But don't you need specific ilvl to access some HW story quests?Honestly, I wouldn't spend time to farm specifically for it.
