    Diversify Tank Stats.

    So recently with all the changes coming for tanks in 3.2, I decided to do a little stat digging on the differences in Tanks. I looked at all there base stats I came to a very disappointing conclusion.

    There is only a 10 STR difference between PLD and DRK/WAR. (this doesnt count the random 200 MND PLD get with a PIE boost for DRK/PLD comapred to WAR)

    At base value all three tanks have the same accuracy, crit, det, parry and skill speed. Now in terms this is all good for the sake of 'balance' however I honestly believe this makes the classes far to similar overall with only their skills making them fundamentally different. Other MMO's I play actually have slight difference to specialized Stat Weights. Walls of TXT.

    Now lets see how SE outlined the Tanks;

    PLD- Physical Mitigation, The Wall
    WAR- Blood Tank, The Beserker
    DRK- Magical Mitigation, The Barrier (i couldn't find a better term :/)

    Now looking at this and back to stat weights at current i210 max all three tanks have the same VIT, Def, and M.Def. WAR and DRK get 10 extra STR than PLD and there mitigation determines their tanking style. I find this a little boring and kinda disappointing. I would like to purpose that Tank Stats be altered so that even when geared the same their stat weights would help define the tanks. My Current Stats level 60 Gear i210

    PLD / DRK / WAR

    HP: 20,064 / 20,064 / 20,064 (25,080*)

    STR: 765 / 775 / 775
    DEX: 210 / 210 / 210
    VIT: 1073 / 1073 / 1073

    DEF: 2177 / 2177 / 2177
    M.DEf: 2177 / 2177 / 2177

    Parry: 500+ / 500+ / 500+

    Currently at level 60 (no armor/weapons) the rough base values are as follows (rounds to nearest 5 for simplicity and race differences) I'll be ignoring magic stats for now.

    STR: 220/230 (PLD/W.D)
    DEX: 210
    VIT: 250

    DEF: 0
    M.DEf: 0

    Parry: 475

    Looking at that you kinda see that in all retrospect Tanks are boring at their core. I'm going to assume this is the same for DPS and healing classes that share primary stat (Ninja might be the exception since melee DEX). People WILL argue that it should be the same without gear and it creates a balance and such but I like small differences that change and make number crunching fun. I'm proposing small stat changes based on a tanks principles that will specialize them a bit more and make it so that playing them in a preferred setting maximizes their potential but doesn't Hinder another Tank from fulfilling the roll.

    For PLD and DRK it would be simple, give them an increase in their stat Roll, with PLD/DRK getting a bonus 200-500 points in DEF/M.DEF respectively. This is for level 60 mind you, so values would be reduced at lower levels. The Tricky part is WAR getting an Increase in VIT over the other 2 tanks as their main form of Mitigation is increasing the MP pool. Along with 3.2 changes this would also make them the DPS Tank and synergize with the whole Self heals aspect of a WAR (NVM that WAR are already undisputed badasses we all know this). Currently 1 point of VIT at level 60 gives say 19 HP (its actually some stupid decimal number but who's counting). I don't know the numbers for HP - DEF/M.DEF values but if given 100 VIT thats 1900 more HP, As that increases the DPS lets cut that in half to 50 VIT, being 850 HP. This would translate into 20-50 VIT for the WAR extra over DRK and PLD. Now to compensate for the obvious massive DMG difference I have created lets take STR which still increases our DPS in 3.2 and give say 20 points to PLD and 30 points to DRK with the WAR keeping his 10 bonus from marauder.

    They are relatively small changes (possibly massive for WAR in terms of DMG) but it would definitely give an in certain fights playing one class over the other but not making another class totally worthless. As for Parry thats another can of worms but lets give DRK 150 parry for shits and giggles, WAR 100 parry and PLD 75. Also every time you parry it deals say an bonus auto attack to the mob u parried and for a block in PLD case it triggers a OGCD reset 25% of the time (say circle of scorn or maybe hell Spirits Within we really only have 2). Finally Add the Dex and STR modifiers back into BLK and PARRY rates, seriously that was dumb move to remove give us options with materia now that we can meld it to everything.

    All said and done stats would now look like this at 60 (no Gear/Bonuses).

    PLD / DRK / WAR

    STR: 240 / 250 / 230
    DEX: 210 / 210 / 210
    VIT: 250 / 250 / 270-300

    DEF: 500 / 0 / 0
    M.DEf: 0 / 500 / 0

    Parry: 550 / 625 / 575

    There Simple yay? This does a few things in terms of DMG reduction which besides holding aggro is a tanks primary roll, it also helps bolster a rolls strong suits already and in terms of PLD gives them a better use of Foresite Cross Class Skill. I'll give you my stat weights at Level 60 with Gear as an AuRa no level bonuses added useing my supposes changes (Fending ACC). (I do not have a 60 WAR however I have confirmed it is the same with a friend who is a 60 WAR and just as naked as I am)

    PLD DRK WAR

    HP: 20,064 / 20,064 / 21,014 (26,267*)

    STR: 785 / 795 / 775
    DEX: 210 / 210 / 210
    VIT: 1073 / 1073 / 1123

    DEF: 2677 / 2177 / 2177
    M.DEf: 2177 / 2677 / 2177

    Parry: 550+ / 625+ / 575+

    *Defiance Stance Buff

    And I'm done. I'm open to criticism and balance isn't really a point here as i'm just using what we currently have a basis and/or a starting point. Fell Free to discuss.
