Missing Cuscenes In The Unending Journey?

I'm really not sure where to put this topic, so a thousand apologies if there was somewhere more fitting for it.

I was just curious if people are feeling there are missing cutscenes, particularly for jobs, in the Unending Story stuff. I went to see my main class monk storyline again, and I could have sworn there was at least one or two more cutscenes of the lvl 50-60 content but I only see 2 available to replay, "Let's Talk Sects" and "Appetite for Destruction", and there's only one cutscene for each.

Am I just thinking there was more cutscenes than there really was? I know they don't record the scenes that don't have special animations, expressions, or camera angles, but it feels weird seeing the beginning of the lvl 60 battle but not the end... It's very possible I'm just being a little paranoid and that the monk after-battle was just idle chatter so it didn't have a scene, but it feels incomplete and was wondering.

Regrettably, unless it involves the more dynamic camera, you can't rewatch a cutscene. There is a lot of important dialogue in the DRK 30-50 line that hints at some big revelations later on, but you can only watch the cutscenes from the 30 and 50 quest, and even then not all of them.

Basically, if you're still able to move the camera, you can't rewatch the scene at the inn. Sometimes even then.

Cilia has the right of it. To elaborate a bit, there's a difference between talking to an NPC flagged for discussion, a fixed-camera discussion involving basic emotes and the movement of characters, and an actual cutscene. Only the latter are in the Unending Journey, sadly. I'm slowly but surely cataloging all the text on Gamer Escape, but both XIVDB under Vekien and GARLAND TOOLS under Clorifex have accommodated the saving of non-cutscene talk (though, ironically, theirs lack voiced cutscenes due to a differentiation in the way they are stored).

It's funny you should mention this. Right now I'm working DRK up to join in on the mentor system and I just wrapped up archiving text data through DRK50. Yes, I litterally squealed with glee at those lines. There is a reason I'm a DRK and not a PLD now. And DRK has the best class story in the game.

Not going to complain too much about it though. The dev team has a lot on their plate and a lot more waiting to be put into motion, and rewatching old conversations is honestly not so important that I would ask them to break their backs adding those in. I just hope one day monks get the flashy power animations we see in the cutscenes. They were so pretty! Though I will admit that some classes have far better story than others. Makes me wonder if the next class will be samurai, and they will go all out on the visuals and story.

That's another subject for another thread though.

For now, I hope they somehow add in a "flashback" feature or something where you can replay old quests at some point. Not for experience or gil but just for fun. But, again, not something that should be considered any time soon.

I'd be happy if said text dialogue was added somewhere in-game to view after completing >X< quest, there's a bunch of them on some sites, but for the most part it's just 3.0 and on stuff, a little end of ARR stuff, too, but even then. There's a bunch of pieces from these text scenes I wanted to view recently, very far back scenes, but couldn't.

Perhaps in a... book... of some kind?

One example of this is Post Moogle, the entirety of it cannot be viewed after beating it once.

Totally agree with this. My personal favorite, though, was when he told the stingy merchant that he should have let Leviathan drown the lot of them. Not only did it have a very "Fight Club" feeling to it, but a character finally expressed an opinion that was not dripping with cliche selfless heroism and said what I had been thinking the whole time.

Also these are very incomplete. Even in the MSQ I've found many real cutscenes, that are missing completely.

Because of that I started some time ago with a twink, recorded them and put it into my YT channel (german only).

Yeah, some pretty important cutscenes are missing.

I actually think this problem is going to compound as we go further, though, with SE seemingly focusing on those neat storyline solo/NPC duties and no way to replay them.

Speaking of missing cutscenes, does anyone know where I can find the one where midgardsormer takes away/supresses the blessing of light? Wanted to re watch that cuz my friends and I were having a related discussion but couldn't find it in msq or the keeper of the lake duty.
