I currently am running my laptop and gaming-desktop-PC through a KVM switch. The peripherals connected through the switch are a wireless USB mouse, USB gaming keyboard, and wireless USB headset.
When switching between the two systems, all peripherals work flawlessly, with one exception. Sound for the headset will work for everything *except* Final Fantasy. If I am on the gaming-desktop-PC and launch Final Fantasy, sound comes through just fine. If I switch to the laptop, sound works fine. If I switch from the laptop back to the desktop, sound works fine for the operating system and all programs *except* Final Fantasy.
I originally had a monitor running through the KVM as well, and noted a similar graphical issue. If I swapped between the laptop and desktop, graphics for everything worked fine *except* for Final Fantasy. The visuals would slow down considerably, or freeze.
I strongly suspect the issue is due with the software, as no other programs have the issue. It is likely that Final Fantasy presently does not have the ability to smoothly handle the disconnection/reconnection of audio/video devices while the game is running. If anyone knows otherwise, I appreciate the input.
