Verminion Tournament unable to complete - nobody playing

So I'm queueing for the Verminion Tournament which ends tomorrow, and nobody is in the queue. I thought it would be cross server like any duty (having penalty and such) but it's in this room, the minion square. So if there is nobody in the room, I won't have anybody to play the tournament against with. And therefore I can't complete the tournament. Why can't we play against NPC's like with TT? Or datacenter?

I think they said theyre adding cross-server df matchups after this hotfix. (Yell at me if im wrong) I remember them saying that they couldnt get the patch out before this tourney unfortunately.

edit -I was sort of wrong this hotfix theyre just increasing the points you get from beating people ranked less then you, but theyre "considering" putting it in df

The maintenance doesn't mention the matchup ques problem but it does mention a change to rank minimums.

In order to accompany Patch 3.1 HotFixes, we will be performing maintenance on all Worlds at the time below. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XIV will be unavailable.

* After the implementation of these hotfixes, the minimum amount of rank points that can be gained when winning a Lord of Verminion tournament match will be raised from 1 to 30.
Please note that the amount of rank points gained from winning matches will change significantly, so please be sure to plan carefully when participating in the tournaments.
While we understand that many of you would like to see an adjustment in the schedule of upcoming tournaments, unfortunately, they are currently managed by the server and the only way to adjust the schedule would be to cancel many of the upcoming tournaments.

* The World Transfer Service will be suspended 15 minutes before the maintenance, and will be unavailable until maintenance has ended.

Re: what I highlighted in color, do you think it was supposed to say "Maximum amount of rank points" instead of "Minimum?"

I'm pretty sure minimum is right, I have 2400 RP now and beating just about anyone and netting only 1 RP per win is ridiculous. That means I could play all 30 tournament matches, win all of them and only have 30 tournament points!

Some people earn more than that for *one* win. It's simply absurd, and setting the minimum to 30 will at least raise that floor to 900 points.

Cross server tournaments, at least within the same data center, would be a huge benefit and eliminate a lot of the win trading.

It's not just win trade, adjusting points, I don't know in other servers but it scary quiet in Excalibur. The main issue I'm having is just to complete the tournament :/ no chance. I mean, like this, I will never get a chance on the Penguin minion ;; With Triple Triad if nobody is on or wants to play, I just challenge the King, but I can't do that with Verminion.

See the problem is not people playing, the problem is people win trading. As they eliminate the chance to lose.

Um... the problem is people NOT playing. I don't know other threads about trade win, but this one is about people not playing, minion square being empty, queue not filling, not having NPCs to play against etc.

On Ultros, the peoples who win-trade do it for the minion, you see a lots of peoples on the leaderboard that just stop after getting 10 win lol Peoples just dont care and 95% of the time minion square is so dead. Once peoples get the minion it will be even worse :/ Personally i was expecting something different for LoV and i'm dissapointed. So once im done with getting the 3 minions i will be done with LoV too :/
