New Player looking for people to play with

Heya guys,

My name is Kai and I am brand new to FFXIV, I played WoW for about 10 years, but the people I used to play with all kind of vanished, that and I got pretty bored of WoW, I have always been a FF fan playing all the games throughout the years except 11, but now I am jumping head first into XIV, and I am really looking for a group of people to play with and hang out with, currently I am on the Lamia server. Also keep in mind I am a huge noob when it comes to this game but have many years of other mmos under my belt, hope to meat a hope bunch of friendly people ^^

I'm on the Chocobo server so I can't play with you but I can help you if you have questions and what not. If you didn't know, guilds in this game are called "Free Companies". The best bet to find some helpful and friendly people to play with would be to try and join a Free Company. Lamia has a forum section as well so you can make a post there that you're looking to join a helpful and friendly FC if you wanted to try join one right now.

Also don't forget that you might end up in a bad FC that you don't enjoy, so don't be afraid to leave it if it isn't for you. I know a lot of people who stick to FCs they don't like, just give it a week or so and if you don't like the FC feel free to try look for another that you might enjoy.

I actually decided to make a new character wasn't happy with the way things were going with my first character and much happier now, but since I made a new character I am on Excalibur instead of lamia, so if there are any players on Exaclibur who are willing to take a new player under their wing that would be greatly appreciated!

I would also try and post on the Excalibur world section, would probably have better luck. Would also help to join a social FC/Linkshell. Wish you the best!

Fellow archer here :-) I think I joined someone's "free" group last night while playing, but besides waving to one of the members, I didn't really do anything with them. The other night I joined a group of indiscriminate players to go in the Satasha dungeon. That was a blast. I'm on the world known as "Ultros". Still a relative newbie, but always willing to lend a helping hand when I can!

Thanks for all the responses guys! Actually a couple nights of ago I was in Gridania and all I did was yell hi around everyone and someone invited me to their free company and I have been having a blast with them, we voice chat and they are super helpful, the community in this game is outstanding and makes me love playing it even more!
