I actually have a chime for Party comments. Most runs are asocial enough that I don't need to worry about it chiming in enough to annoy, and I have tunnel vision. ((Also sometimes gets me killed by non marked AOEs from Chimera and Cyclopi but that's an entirely different issue.))

I turned on a sound effect for my party chat so I always hear when someone's said something (regardless if they've added a chime in or not).
I really hate it when people just DON'T look at party chat. Why? What are you doing? If you need to stop and read whatever I just said fine but don't just ignore it.

I say the same thing about brds when Im on nin doing aoe dps, because brd have 2 ways to regain tp that dont have a 3 min cooldown... goad, with the 3 min cooldown has to line up right when you are needing it during an aoe fight, thats only going to happen a couple times in a normal dungeon if at all, and war have priority over brd in a big pull anyway. So next time you think you need goad how about you battle voice and paeon instead, or use invigorate.

am i right assuming you don't play PLD? since you say only WAR needs TP. PLD eats TP like crazy and got absolutely nothing to regain any. as example, i'm almost out of TP on the second void ark boss before he uses his stomp. that gladly gives me then enough time to recover for the rest of the fight.

I think it would be better if you just adapted to every different situation other than rolling a specific priority list. Whoever needs TP the most, should be Goaded. Plain and simple. With the TP bar for other players being visible to everyone, there really is no excuse.

This is sadly true. Fights with no downtime is horrible for Pld's TP, and any Goad is like a godsend.

Obviously. But most run out of TP faster than others, like PLD. I'm not going to Goad a DPS who hasn't used Invigorate over a tank who has no way of recovering TP outside of waiting around, unless you're WAR.

In the case of multiple players running out of TP, I do expect the BRD to Paeon or MCH to Rook -> Promotion.

(Just as a reminder, I'm talking about 8-mans here.)

Maybe make a macro announcing your TP is low? That's what we had to do before TP bars were added.

PLD has the most TP issues. This is about as clear to anyone who raids as your unnecessary amount of commas.

Keep in mind. Goad has zero impact on a Ninja's ability to dps, while Army's Paeon will lower that Bards DPS by 15%. So there is a valid reason for hesitancy there. I do agree that BRD should have invigorate. I rarely run out of TP on BRD even when spamming AOEs.

A lot of Ninja's seem to forget they have that ability. I can't count the number of times I've tanked a party full of ninja's, and get complete silence when I ask for Goad.

Yeah, I play both jobs, but being out of tp also seriously impacts dps, and paeon works for the whole pt, not using it is hurting more then just the brd. So no, I dont think there is a valid reason to not use tools SE gave you when you need them.

Besides, you only need it up for a few seconds, especially when paired with BV which as you say about nin, brd seem to forget they have BV.

I said valid reason for hesitancy. Never said to not use it. There should be no hesitance on the Ninja's part. Good Ninja's never even need to be asked. They see someone with low TP, Goad, bam! done.
