is it just me or it just got harder to level up low level classes?

tried to level my lvl 10 lancer. so I went to camp drybone in thanalan, and Its been so hard to finish some leves. I get destroyed if not almost dead with leves. I dont know how to exp anymore since I can only play a couple of hours a day and I dont have to to look for party, or wait for it. What you guys think?

How many stars of difficulty are you rolling with on your L10 leves?

Admittedly my own experience probably isn't very helpful to you as I've basically never actually soloed in this game, I currently have a PGL27 and THM22 I've gotten solely in parties (I've barely done DoM/DoW leves at all on this character, actually.)

From what I've heard and read, though, you -should- be able to survive single-star Drybone leves. Try 3- or 4-starring level 1 leves, see if those are any easier or give you decent XP?

I chose 1 star. tried to level my lancer and sometimes it barely makes it in to one battle with guildleves. I think after they removed the physical level mobs got really hard at low levels.

1-20 is harder than before in my opinion, while 20+ is a bit easier than before. Might be wrong, just how it felt to me. Not saying it is a fact :P

What helps is going for speed when doing leves. Keep picking 1 start difficulty and finish it quickly so you get a nice speed bonus at the end of it.

Some low level leves are still more difficult than others. Especially ones where the enemies are grouped together or they're dodos. My advice would be to explore the various leves and see which are easy to beat, and try to stick with those until you're a bit higher.

Also remember to wear good equipment for your level. It helps a bunch. Unfortunately, it can be a bit expensive to get still, since the update

It's one of the many 1.19 kinks they've mentioned theyre going to try and tackle in 1.20.

Yeah, it would be nice if with the new claim system and the link system if they could update how leves work as well... so if you are soloing leves they will recognize that and dodos won't show up in parties of three but would rather be solo or at most parties of two.

My guess is actual content changes for leves are on the horizon though.

Leveling 1-20 is a joke, it takes godamn forever.

My 18 pugilist is near invincible with stoneskin II. And even fighting level 22 mobs for WAAAY higher exp(they die almost as fast as 18s) it takes a million years to level.

Lol 120 exp for a level 22 battleleve mob.

Duoing makes the lower levels go by quick(er).

Soloing the leves has been less than enjoyable or time efficient. I've outfitted my lowest level adventurer jobs with optimal rank gear and while I can complete many of the leves if they're level appropriate, there are some that are extra difficult.

The leves I speak of are the fleeing mob leves. Just as you're about to finish a mob, they run into a group of other aggressive mobs and now you're usually fighting three foes instead of just the one.

I imagine going through with only one job and less than optimal gear (or over leveled gear) would make any of this more difficult. Here's hoping to your victory against unhappy days.

yea its a pain especially since it seems you need multiple level 50s for endgame(judging by forum posts). i think im just gonna level 1 class above 10 until they speed it up a bit.
