That's what I'm trying to tell him, but he doesn't listen, its best you don't try to listen to him either though...or read his posts anyway...its pointless and takes you nowhere.Where are you getting this "unplayable" nonsense from? The game is fully functional despite a few missing systems (Which are being addressed in the next update).
The game is not only playable, but enjoyable.
Also, nowhere did any of us say 1.20 is THE 100% mark. We said 1.20 is bringing it CLOSE to that. It brings it to the launch level. And from there, just like any other MMO, subsequent updates will address the remainder of the issues.
Nobody said 1.20 makes the game perfect. We have only said it brings it close enough to be considered launch ready, at which point it becomes reasonable to start the subscriptions.
Free bumps for my thread however.
Because they haven't been involved enough to see the changes. It's a smart business move by SE.
and the trolls have invaded this more positive thread cuz positivity just isnt allowed

Whether or not the game is good or bad they have to do that. Gamers are stubborn and tend to adopt the opinions of others instead of forming their own or having any personal experience. That is a lot of BS to have to dig through. I'm sure SE is well aware of the giant hurdle they have to hop over due to the initial failed launch of XIV.
you sir, are my hero. You want the legit reason they made the decision to start charging us? When they started the free period they said the game would remain free until such a time as they had a detailed, workable roadmap for the future of the game. Well, guess what the 2.0 announcement was. They are just doing EXACTLY what they said they would do A YEAR AGO.
STOP WHINING ABOUT IT.

I think that's the most important part. They said that a large part of this content won't be accessible anymore in 2.0."Why pay for an incomplete game with no content till 2.0?"
This is what really gets me and either people don't know how to read, they read it wrong, or they just complain just because. Believe it or not there is a ton of content planned from post-1.19 to post-1.23. By 1.23 we will have:
-Moogle Primal Battle
-Garuda Primal Battle
-Hamlet Defense for PvE
-The job system
-Two instanced raids
-Garlean Empire battles
-The Twelve content
-Garlean Legatus Battle
-Massive changes such as PC search, The Market Wards adjustments, Private Rooms, gear for your Personal Chocobo, and the Critical World Changes (the planned "New Eorzea")
And all of this is during the 11-month billing cycle. That's quite alot considering that the dev team has to work on 2.0 on top of all this content.
Then it means that all this content they are developing is actually almost exclusively for the current player base. And they do that to satisfy their current loyal fanbase instead of shutting down the servers until 2.0 release and dispatching their entire team to the development of 2.0.
I think it's fair to provide, to people who enjoy the game in its current state, the option to continue playing, but this option has a cost.
ohhh no not more instanced raid garbage, longas they use levequest and instanced bs as filler content the game will never succed , its pure laziness
Also, when FFXI was 2 years old, its players had:
- Sky
- BCNMs
- Dynamis
- 12 jobs to choose from
- Chocobos and Airships
- An engaging expansion storyline not tied to any city
- A working party system
- An awesome search function
- Teleport and Warp spells
- Realistic real-time battles not severely inhibited by server lag
- A (mostly) intuitive menu
- A comfortable console style interface
- Collision detection
- A great targeting system that differentiated between friend and foe
- The ability to quickly engage enemies
- About 40 unique full zones (not including battlefield/misc zones)
- 4 major cities (Windurst, Bastok, San d'Oria and Jeuno) and 5 "settlements" (Selbina, Mhaura, Norg, Kazham, Rabao) which were more than a dumpy building by the side of the road; those are what we'd call "outposts" in FFXI
- 6 amazing beastmen stronghold zones that are entire zones unto themselves and not just blips on the world map
