Just make sure you set it to skip previously viewed cutscenes on PS3, this was my biggest pet peeve while playing on it. It would take so long just to get to the point where I could skip one... it was a huge time saver when someone told me I could set it to skip.

So, i hear the ps3 version is gonna be dropped soon. and i dont have the money to upgrade my computer or get a ps4. i just got this when it was on sale on psn. did i just waste my money? also i didnt get HW. im guessing it wont be worth getting. sadness..

What are you running for PC hardware? You'd be surprised what FFXIV can run on and still be better than PS3/PS4

The hubts problem was because there would be so many people around that the mob wouldn't load. But that was a long time ago, these days I see so many ranks and no one bothers anymore, there's not much you need from hunts anymore

You'll be in for a treat when you upgrade to PS4. itll make the PS3 version look like minecraft.

I remember the day I did. I was standing by the tomestone vendors in Revenant's Toll. My FC found it rather strange to see me so excited about the fact I could see one of my fc members idling by the aetheryte.

PS3 support will last till after 4.X But my best guess is will not get 4.XX just a patch to see the gear.


Lets just hope that when PS3 is going away. SE and sony do another upgrade to PS4 campaign.

I would suggest you try the game out for a bit first unless you really want to play an Au Ra or you can get it on sale. Till you hit 50 having the expansion doesn't really offer anything extra. Once you get to 50 you will want HW.

Note that even when you upgrade your account will be the same so you can play the same character on any platform.

If he likes the game enough to reach Lv45, I think he should get Heavensward, because even he does not finish ARR's MSQ and he reach Lv50, he'll need Heavensward to break his Lv50 cap.
