Are you tring to say moose that maybe SE once said that it was a recicled skim, but given that the players werent happy with those answers. They just regret of that descion and made a lore base reason?Seems to be a coincidentally re-used asset, though. The design is referred to by the SSL as distinctly Meracydian, which makes it hard for it to show up in all the places they do at the times they do... I suspect that it wouldn't be impossible for the Lore Team to back themselves out of that corner; they seem to enjoy the "no retcons on my watch" challenge of coming up with an interesting and plausible excuse. But they'd have to have a reason to care first, lol.

We're talking about Biloko, right? Swamp Thing with the slap-cane? In legends, Bilokos are dwarf-like creatures who have plants growing out of their skin instead of hair, so I imagined them as being ambiguously plantoid, possibly not entirely plantoid underneath. The Goobbue, for example, is not entirely plant, either (at least, going by the Triple Triad card), but rather has a symbiotic relationship with plants that grow on it. Thematically, Bilokos might not be all that different from cyclops - not displaying much intelligence, but clearly more than basic animal intelligence.

Thanks I was wondering about the tree like creatures in Saint. They use the omni rod so there must be some sort of connection. They have some intelligence as they do use tools. Has anyone seen them outside the dungeon?

Only the flying bee/wasp insects roam aroud a portion of outside looking for food, the Malboros that overtook the pond, and some caterpillars that followed. I'm surprised that that the green house is so big on the inside and that nothing else has bothered to go beyond the walls. I do wonder what that big tree is called though. (might be obvious)
It is important to remember that the overworld and other non-dungeon areas are out of scale so that we the players can effectively explore and travel within them. The Arboretum is in "truth" as big as what we see in the dungeon.
Yeah. A lot of areas are much, much bigger overall. The major settlements and cities are a good example of this. We only explore a tiny portion of each. It makes me hope that in the future we'll see an entire zone devoted to exploring a ruined city - much like Lea Monde from Vagrant Story or the remnants of Nabudis in FFXII...
Many dungeons have plenty of sealed doors throughout them as well. Satasha is a great example of that.

Pretty confident as of 3.1 they do not exist outside of the Arboretum.

When I 1st saw the Bilokos mob in St. Mocienne I thought that maybe they were the tree-like beings that called themselves the "remnants of sephirot" in The Cathedral's sightseeing log.
I don't think they are, but still a nice way to introduce them

I'm surprised they didn't show them in stasis.
