Just like in life, if you don't pay attention to the details, seek out more in-depth information and take somewhat of an active role in learning you will know very little about things.
There is tons of information and more about the game-world and the people that live in it, you just have to engage the world more instead of just labeling it stupid and avoiding it while expecting to have it brought to you on a silver platter and then shoved down your throat.

If you honestly have gotten no information about how the people of the 4 main city-states live, the politics of them, or any of the races out of doing a combination of MSQ and sidequests, the problem is you, not the game. You have to actively work to not pay attention to not take in the problems and virtues of every city on a personal level, and since you mention the race you play as, moogle mail and the archer's guild both have some good Keeper of the Moon material, and there's quite a bit of dialogue with the U tribe for Seekers. Quality of writing is subjective, and you're free to not like it. Though if you're trying to say there's none OF it for those topics then I seriously don't even know what to say to you.

This is the greatest truth ever. You have to TRY to not get hit in the face with some sort of lore. But it's not surprising you've found the game to be lacking. Judging from your other posts, OP, you seem like the type to skip every dialogue and cutscene and then complain that you don't know whats going on.

Seriously? There's lore all over the place in the game though. Where do you think the Lore forum gurus get most of what they talk about in there? Some has been clarified in supplemental material, but a lot of it is lifted straight from the game. MSQ, side quests, job quests, NPC dialogues, the Mount guide, the Minion guide, the Fishing log, the Sightseeing log... Hell, even levequests:



This game practically shoves tidbits of lore into your pockets. You just aren't paying attention.
