Final Fantasy IX was the very first Final Fantasy that I ever played
It was my childhood~ so many memories just came flooding back.

FFIX is an awesome game, really the crown jewel of the PS1 era I think. Glad to see it getting a shout out in FFXIV.

I agree, its a shame that it hasn't gotten the remake treatment as of yet, the game came out too close to the end of the PS lifespan I think, but it is still my favorite if only because my nostalgia goggles are on whenever I think about it.

Thinking I might make a new rogue character once I get multi-month resubscribed next week~ should be fun to play around in the rogue story wearing tantalus gear XD

I really enjoyed IX. The only downside to it was the whole PlayOnline thing for the secrets. The website is long gone and it's hard to find the secrets on another website in the same way they correspond to the game guide. YES, I use game guides. I get lost very easily otherwise. Sue me. :P

Wasn't the guide mostly just "if you wanna know more about this section, look up this code"? Nowadays any game site can just give you the info straight out.

Nothing wrong with using game guides, I would have never known about a few side events if I hadn't stumbled across them on gamefaqs. Though I still regret falling for kill the black waltz's sealion first and he will run away leaving an item that lets you change costumes thing.. I was young XD I did however nearly pull it off without trance with relative ease after excessive grinding.

Ah yes, back in the glory days when rumors like that are what defined the Internet for me. I spent more of my youth trying to ressurect Aeris and catch a Mew than I care to admit.

Kinda, yah. But you would miss out on good/powerful items, side quests, and other things if you didn't go online. I wish they'd release a new guide with the PlayOnline stuff added in. I still like to replay the game, even though the graphics look like crap on newer TVs. And I know I could get an emulator and USB controller, but call me old school. I like to play games on my older systems. I still have my SNES and like to play Mario RPG and Secret of Evermore from time to time.

That truck had a defining lack of Mews.. i made myself feel better by catching six max level Mewtwos and capturing Missingno.. >.> Missingno needs a movie, it can be made of currupted Unknown

I wonder what other outfits will become available in the future, cosplaying characters is such a guilty pleasure..
