Square realized the initial game was ***, so they're making a whole new game. Knowing Square it's going to take a while to make that new game. These forums are not your babysitter, cry somewhere else.

MMOs are never done, 2.0 is just another major patch. They will continue working on the game after 2.0, people make it out to be the final finished perfect product that it's not going to be.

Point is, are you having fun or not? If you're having enough fun that you think it's worth paying, then pay. If not, then don't. It's not about whether the game is "done" or not.

The game's being remade, it's going to take another year before it's complete. They're going to start charging for the game as it is now to fund the in game events that will lead to 2.0.

Unfortunately, few of these threads supply any reasonable alternatives, if any at all.
