Stackable Maps Please

Sorry if already mentioned but would it not be a QOL change if we can stack maps of the same variety? Soo many maps i miss out on as i do not always do maps when i get them, or retainers are full with them, etc... And i always find maps while gathering other items.
Is there a reason that this cannot be implemented?

Yes its annoying just like the 18 hour lockout.

But this is by design. So don't expect it to change.

But if you are wealthy the unhidden leather maps do stack. Again, by design.
