If youre refereing to breaking horns, we break them all, for over 25 kills now and no difference in drop rates, same with the swords, we've tried every possible way of increasing drop chance by now.
Besides the drop % would'nt be an issue at all if only we could give the few drops we get to our party members who actualy has use for them instead of having to delete them.
Make the Inferno Lamp a requirement to attempt the fight rather than an optional key item for drops and make the weapons drop under a normal loot system instead of having us waste weapons we don't want.
This should be a quick easy and fair fix, please SE make a small hotfix or a 1.19b patch so we actualy can enjoy fighting Ifrit and not end up feeling cheated and disapointed after every win.
The current system wouldn't be so bad if it only took into account the classes you have at 45+ (the requirement to enter) and never gave you a duplicate weapon.

Hurray for my first Ifrit weapon! A bow for my ARC26! The very LAST class I intend to level.
/sarcasm
The current loot system is in place so that the content lasts longer. It has nothing to do with a bad loot system, the change was intentional to hold us over. If this wasn't the case the majority of players would be done with Ifrit already and everyone would be standing around doing nothing again.
Whether or not you agree with their decision is neither here nor there. Fact is, loot works as intended to extend the shelf life of the encounter. Nothing more, nothing less.
In the future I see a better loot system as a fair implementation. As it stands now, this is specifically in place to hold over the more ambitious player, whereas the casual player will conquer this content and receive their reward at a later date.
True, but I wonder why they just do the Ifrit loot like the Darkhold loot? One chest, one chance at a weapon, and a whole bunch of dark matter put in everyone's loot lists to distribute as they see fit.
The drop rate would still be low (1/8th of what it is now, since there's only one chance for a drop), but at least players wouldn't feel the frustration of getting a useless weapon and not be able to do anything about it.

Global loot roll ala FF11 is the same as everyone needing /duh.Need or Green is a stupid idea, everyone will just Need otherwise if you're going to just organize who gets what then theres no point in the fking system in the first place.
Its like Yoshi only listens when he wants to........... why is it so hard to have a global loot where people can "lot" like XI......................
That being said not everyone will just need if you play that way in an LS I doubt people will want to play with you much in future.
Well the thing is its having a negative effect because people don't want to do content that is unfair and lop sided.
Once I kill Ifrit and get my achievement I probably have little incentive to do it again because the chances of me getting the weapon I want are so small its pointles trying.
If they truely wanted to extend the life of the encounter they should have had Ifrit drop 1 token for each kill and then you could buy the weapon you wanted from a vendor for say 10-20 tokens.
Sure that may be a little too Wow-esque for some to swallow but it works.

My tally so far is 6-40 on loot.
However, that breaks down to 3 swords, 2 canes, and 1 axe.
Why is it so hard to see if you have the weapon before giving you another one, and god forbid someone else in party can get it.
