    masterbook 2 rotations??

This might get a little rambly haha, but bear with me! D: Okay, by sheer dumb luck I ground my way to level 60 on all crafts and gatherering classes (which I’m super proud of) but now I’m stuck on rotations. For the most part, I’m able to HQ a lot of things from lv 1 – 50 and even some of the 3.x items :/ but what’s really bugging me is the inability to do the crafts for the MB #2’s – for example, I managed to get an intricate silver brocade to 56% HQ before it botched (that’s the only one I’ve tried, really). I’ve looked online for different rotations and tips and tried a lot of things posted but nothing seems to work. I’ve tried NQ and HQ materials too.

I’m obviously doing something terribly wrong with crafting ^^; because the whole crafting rotations and cross class skills go over my head.

As it stands now, I generally use: Great strides > standard touch x whatever to get me started and wing it from there. Uh, also, without food and as a WVR I'm at: craftmanship 705, control 646, CP 384.

yikes, with stats like those, 3-4 star Level 50 recipes should be a yawnfest even from NQ mats

(I'm not a huge crafting aficionado so my rotation could be much better but it does get the job done)

    Makers Mark
    comfort zone
Flawless synth (as many as it gives)
    inner quiet
    Steady Hand 2
    Hasty touch until 20 durability
    Masters mend 2
    Steady hand 2
Hasty until you hit 8-9 IQ stacks
    Steady hand, great strides, Byregots
should only take 2-3 careful synth 2's to finish the craft.

Use precise touch on a good if it's not at the end of a cycle and you have Steady hand up, otherwise hit tricks on it.

I'd suggest having a look at this rotation.

    http://ffxivrealm.com/guides/a-step-...e-tsukino.176/

Though there are a number of rotations to get these items HQ.

The absolute basis of any rotation is starting with inner Quiet and building up stacks with the cheapest touches you have cp wise. Amount of quality you get at this step is not important. you use cp to restore durability or reduce durability loss. When you get near the end, combine great strides and Byregoth's blessing for a huge quality boost. finish off with your favorite progress skills.

main point is keep one eye on CP and the other on durabilty you have and the amount you need to finish.

A calculator can help you with trying out rotations without wasting expensive materials.
Have a look at this one

Instead of hitting hasty till you have 8 or 9 IQ stacks which would lead you to having no durability left. You do hasty's till you have 30 to 40 durability, depending on how many Carefull synth II's you need to finish the craft.

My own rotation goes along the lines of
    Comfort zone
    Inner quiet
    steady hand 2
    Waste not
    hasty touch x4
    steady hand 2
hasty touch till 10 or 20 (depends on if its a 70 or 80 durability craft)
    Masters mend 2
    steady hand 2
hasty x2 (make shure you have 50 durability left after the hasty's)
    Great strides
    innovation if cp allows
    Ingenueity 2
    Byregoth's blessing
    Carefull synth x4

I think that should finish everything up to 950 progress needing recipy's
Allways use tricks of the trade on a good condition
Use precise touch on an excelent condition.
When you get near the end 8 stacks of inner quiet or so and you get an excelent just hit byregoth's blessing without great strides. Chances of it turning up again are slim and it gives more quality then a fully "buffed" byregoth on a normal/good condition

With those stats, you can possibly just CZ, steady hand, basic touch multiple times, use tricks of trade when possible, master's mend, do it all again, final push with great strides/byregot and end up the synthesis with careful synth II.

Silver brocade is 80 durability, you certainly don't need Waste Not.

I agree with cgb completely !
Old 50 recipe are a joke if you're correctly gear and lv60

As long as you have the right cross skill you should be fine

    ...

And please... Do not do great stride + any touch... It's a huge waste of cp
Great stride is the most efficient with a byregot skill

    Caitlinzulu gave à good link

So, after trying out possible rotations on the simulator that Caitlinzulu linked AND experimenting with other things posted in here, I not only managed to get one MB2 book, but 3! xD Thanks for all the advice, guys.

What is your current rotation? I think, from the sound of this, that you're focused too much on the actual HQ value of what you're doing. You really should be focused on getting inner stacks up as far as you can, and then having enough CP to do the finishing moves. You can get to 100% HQ with only 15% ~ 20% HQ if your stacks of inner are high enough. It's a mind shift and feels strange at first. It's hard to see how 15% HQ or 20% HQ will turn into 100% but it does. Trust me. Strive to get your inner stacks to be 7 or more, then use GS + Inno + BBlessing.

This is why rotation guides shouldn't exist...
