Nothing beats .hack. That will forever be the best.
This sounds hilarious.. I might have to check it out..
Another show (not anime) that is gamer related in general that I thought was pretty funny (also rather cheesy but still funny) was "Video Game High School".
It's on Netflix or you can watch it for free on Youtube.. Pretty funny stuff.
I approve of this thread.
Konosuba looks like a generic fantasy anime at first, but it's one of the most hilarious shows I have ever watched.
Season 2 is currently airing.

I really need to watch this one
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
Sounds like my daily roulettes yes. I will take a look.
I love Konosuba, Its one of my favorites right now. Im watching season two. I really dont think it is as much like ffxiv as you think it is. Your definitely stretching a lot here. I do see some similarities, though they are few. Also Konosuba is hardly new lol. Season one was originally aired on January the 14th of 2016 until March the 17th of 2016, sooo.. Thats just over a year old lol.
Another really REALLY good anime that doesnt receive enough attention is "Overlord." Its about a boy stuck in a game world too. Except he is more real than kirito from sao in personality. He is more "evil", on a humorous level, rather than being a pure of heart generic anime hero. Its really hard to explain but its the best anime i have seen in a long, long, time. I recommend it, highly. I cried tears of laughter. Also..
ALBEDO BEST GURL

Mature content, sexual themes and gore in Overlord.

Haven't seen Overlord yet, but it's on my to-do list. For those not in the know, that skeleton in some of the ALBEDO BEST GURL pics? THAT is the boy stuck in the game world. :3Another really REALLY good anime that doesnt receive enough attention is "Overlord." Its about a boy stuck in a game world too. I do highly recommend Konosuba, as has been mentioned it skewers the whole bad MMO party thing JUST right. It's pretty Seinfeldian, in that the main characters are self-absorbed and petty, yet so amusing to watch.
I'll have to find and watch this Konosuba anime. I enjoyed SAO and Log Horizon. SAO is high budget and the first season is great. Second and Third went kinda off the rails, but weren't bad IMO. Log Horizon is lower budget and hilarious. Log Horizon does a great job of representing how people would deal with MMO rules (including resurrection). I enjoyed it even more than SAO honestly, and both Log Horizon seasons are great. Log Horizon also deals with NPCs becoming sentient, which creates some incredible plot points.
I watched a couple of the Hack series long ago. They were sloooow. I never could get into it, but I didn't think it was bad. I watched 'How to pick up girls in a dungeon' because it came highly recommended. The name made me wary... but it was actually really good. I think the difference in that series is that maybe the players don't know they're in a game? It just seems like a fantasy world with some RPG rules thrown in, but the characters are all native to that world as far as they know.
