Cannot enter world with a character

I have two characters: "Harry Dresden" and "Kittypurr Livesagain" on Palamecia. I haven't logged in, in a couple of months. I can log in and use Harry Dresden just fine. Kittypurr however, is having issues.

* I believe she is in Uldan
* When I log in, I hear "ocean" background sounds
* The map will display, but the 3D game screen only shows my character, no background
* After 30 seconds to a minute, I get a (30002) disconnect error.

Again, none of this happens with the Harry Dresden character.
Guess: Is it possible a change in the map could have my character stuck in an invalid location?

We would like to apologize for the problems you are experiencing, and would like to let you know that we are investigating this matter further. However for our investigation, we will need further information from yourself, and others, who are receiving this ‘30002’ error. Please reply to this thread, providing answers to the following questions, and please be as detailed as possible when providing error messages or codes:

1) User Environment
1. – Operating System? (IE: WinXP, Vista, Win7, 32bit? 64bit?)
2. - Antivirus program? (IE: Windows Defender, AVG, etc)
3. – Internet Service Provider?
2) Exact Error Message
3) Frequency of 30002 Error?
4) What area were you in when the error occurred?
5) What were you doing when the error occurred? (What type of actions, movements, etc)
6) Were you in a party at the time the error occurred? (Please provide number of party members if you were in a party)
7) Estimate number of characters that were near you at time of error?
8) Were you able to log back into FFXIV after the error?

This information may have been provided previously, but gathering it this format will allow us to pass it allow to the Development Team to find a resolution to this issue.

I am having the same issue. I lost power as I was entering Ifrit battle zone and havent been able to log back in since, although LS members tell me my character is logged in under LS menu. I am too able to log in under a alternate character.

Also I get no error message after character selection screen just a neverending Now Loading... screen

I fixed it, and I'm pretty sure it was that my character was loading in a 'physically impossible' location within the world. I used 'return' prior to the server error, and I once again could see graphics and am not getting 30002 disconnect (sorry, I don't have the full error message). I'll fill out the rest to the best of my ability to hopefully provide assistance in the future. As this happened with only one character (of two), and from two separate comptuers, and given the other details, and the fact that it was fixed by me using 'return', I believe my issue was server side:


1) User Environment

3. – Internet: Wide Open West
2) Exact Error Message: don't have exact, just a (30002) error
3) Frequency of 30002 Error: Persistent until I used 'return' with the character.
4) What area were you in when the error occurred: Uldan
5) What were you doing when the error occurred: Just logged in, waited 30 seconds. Could stand still or walk, took no other activities. Walking did not appear to be impeded by walls or other obstacles on the minimap.
6) Were you in a party at the time the error occurred: No
7) Estimate number of characters that were near you at time of error: None to a dozen
8) Were you able to log back into FFXIV after the error: Yes, and the error reoccured until I used 'return' which took me to a link crystal, and caused the error to stop.
