Blame Griefers? Most concepts are put in place to prevent a boring dull experience in a game. Competition and gameplay should not come down to claiming a mob before another or waiting countless hours just to do something. The competition and gameplay should come from the ability to get into an event in a matter of minutes as well as have the competition come down to being the first to beat the dungeon, beating the dungeon in the quickest manner, getting the first piece of loot from said dungeon or the rarest loot. It shouldn't be griefing people who claim a mob and getting in their way with lag as you try to sabotage their ability to overcome a foe.

If you want to blame anyone from why instances are favored in an MMO it's the people who take the time to make a game a nightmare for those who just want to have fun. It's much wiser for a team to be able to develop content to challenge a player rather then content taht pits players against one another to claim a mob then beat it, forcing the other teams to wait hours upon hours just for the chance to try again. Time sinks, that's what they are and they ain't no fun lol. It is funny how people complain about concepts that cut down on time sinks cause in the end that's what they are producing, they are actually producing concepts to cut on the time sinks. How evil of them!
