I hope the devs are listening. We need the devs to please listen.

I should do roulette more I think. XD I am sitting at 160 commendations all from BLM. I am sure I need improvement in some areas, but I think it mostly stems from doing most of my dungeons/raids/primals in PF groups. lel I was thinking of rolling healer and spamming lower level DF dungeons to stack up on some commendations though. XD
IRL? What's that? Sounds dreadful!
Why even? Just spam guildhests. Even faster.I should do roulette more I think. XD I am sitting at 160 commendations all from BLM. Mm, I think someone alng this thread caught the good reason forr the community requirement existing and at the same time not being all that high. It's the DF. If you're supposed to be of personality that can and will mentor others, then you're also a person who doesn't burn their temper the moment any random people are involved. Having some amount of comms is a measure that you have patience to do DF content, and while not maybe the perfectest player, are not the sort no one wants to comm.
If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.
I typically always commend DPS unless they are very obviously bad or the healer/tank did something exceptional. I leveled to 50 as a healer, but that was before the commendation system and before dungeons were worth running for experience. I'm almost to 300 just from playing DPS since HW launched. Healers and tanks appreciate fast dungeon runs and will reward commendations based on that.
I doubt most of the comms go to tank, maybe good ones, but I know a lot of healers in my fc that have been giving them to DPS instead (ESP if they do good DPS). Good tanks are few and far between it seems, or ones that don't act like drama-queens and think they are gods gift to the group because they fate grinded to 60. :/
I thought 300 was a little low. Checked my profile. 3,806 Recommendations. Already have the Lifer I (2,000 dungeons) and it looks like Lodestone doesn't show progress of the Lifer II (5,000). Too bad. But then the title Lifer explains it, I live in dungeons and never did the FATE grind. Nor did I farm GHs.
MANTASTIC: I got 1017 problems, but playing FFXIV ain't one.
Llyren: Lala Tanks hit point density levels attract small planets
It sounds to me like the Mentor system is like school, and there's a big difference between Infants/Junior school teachers and Secondary school teachers.
The first teach you the basics, all the things you need to know in the beginning, the latter teach you the specifics of each subject.
As for making the requirements harder, meh. Even in school, you'll get A-hole teachers, that're only there to get paid at the end of the day.
Unless, they introduce a seperate system for grading the Mentors Performance (no pun intended), with appropriate rewards or removal of Mentor Status, then the system, while helpful, is no better than the current one of Commendations, imo at least.
