IJ actually offers a pretty hefty DPS increase because you can get two sets of buffed dots whenever you use CDs and you don't have to clip horrendously early as you would for that if IJ didn't exist.

And correct me if I'm wrong but using one 100 potency was it? Instead of 2 under 100 potency initial hits to reapply dots is in itself a dps increase already

Yeah that's what they meant by timesave. It's really simple to work out. If you didn't have IJ you'd have to apply venomous bite(100) and windbite(60) every 18 seconds, you replace the windbite with a straight shot (assuming worst case) it's 80 extra potency every 18 seconds so around ~250 per minute on top of the WM bonus. There's also the fact that you don't have to clip straight shot as early if it's going to fall off before you reapply dots (before you'd want it at 6+ seconds before redotting)
