Sup everyone,

DoW is looking for friendly helpful individuals to join our gaming family.

I must admit, I am terrible at writing, so here are a few facts about DoW for the interested player;

• We to do events every night of the week, (except when we get burned out after hitting the content so hard) and are committed to progressing and growing into the distant future.
  
• We are not just a FFXIV linkshell, we play games like Minecraft, Starcraft, CoD, Battlefield, LoL and others...
  
• We are a hardcore shell with a family oriented nature. (I know right?)
  
• Our friendships, trust and open commitment to each other keep us together and strong.
  
• Good leadership, honesty and communication are the core values of our shell and I personally ensure every person who puts in time and effort, gets rewarded.
  
• Any leadership decision can be overruled by my officers and any officer decision can be overruled by the members(loot, policies, etc...). Everyone in the shell does what they can to help everyone else out, and as a result we have a very fair and balanced shell.
  
• DoW has a 2 year history and a commitment to placing strong in every game we play. We were ranked #1 on Israphel (in Aion) by a longshot, and in FFXIV we have accomplished many of the server 1sts to date. This is a trend we intend on continuing.
  
• We are more than a guild. DoW is a community dedicated on growing with people we know and trust.
  
• DoW isn't an "invite everyone that applies" linkshell, we take close care to ensure our community is the type of place you can put hard work into and get all of what you put in, back. This comes with a fairly heavy screening process, and unless you have something to offer the shell (more than just a warm body) looking elsewhere might be recommended. We all support each other in DoW and anyone with little to offer that might be a burden on the rest of the shell, will likely be declined.
  
• HOWEVER, (in contrast to the above point) I have had a motto since day 1 in Aion: "I will always take good people over good players" And with that motto, I must say that attitude, helpfulness, and commitment are all things worthy of a linkshell invite, even if you don't have 100 rank 50s, you can still be a valuable member in the DoW community.
  
• DoW also has a "friends and family" policy that lets your friends into the shell without the process of an application and trial. If you get in, so do your RL friends and family. I am not a fan of splitting friends and family apart just to play a game. F&F (as I call them) are low on our loot list because they did not have to apply (and usually have lower levels and playtime), but gain the community and other benefits of our shell. This only happens after you have gone through trial and are accepted as a member, we then invite your f&f.

Does the beautification involve changing hosts or some such? Link says domain expired yesterday. Might as well post here though, since my question's simple enough and you seem to actually check the istory forum here from time to time.

First, you guys still have your TS requirement? (I'd assume you do, but feel like checking)
Second, you guys still don't use DKP?
Third, did you guys ever back up on the no chat ls if you join us thing? Was thinking about waiting on my old xi friends to come back, but at this point I'm a bit doubtful they will, even with the changes. Don't want to be in some ls that wouldn't let me be in a chat shell with them though, if they did come back.

Lastly, you know of any shells on our server that are nice enough and don't require TS or use DKP? Ideally I'd love a shell like that. Preferably on the smaller side. But I don't think our server is large enough to be littered with ls choices for me. Black Planet seemed nice, but I haven't seen Nala Zulu in forever and never really got to know anyone else in that. I haven't seen anyone with it on lately either, anyhow. I imagine I could always try making my own small ls if I felt strongly about my preferences, but I really don't have it in me to herd people around well enough to get things done.

I've been gone awhile, and you probably have a better idea of what shells are around/like than I do. My first character was Yoli and I tanked for the Prismatic Llama a bit when the game came out. Then I left for a few months. Came back awhile ago and decided to make an Elvaan instead, because we had too many cats on the server (and because circle-braided hair is back in style), and am up towards 48 now. So obviously I'm not particularly ready for end-game stuff just yet. But it seems like the game isn't quite ready for that either, and it'd be nice to have an ls to do some things with. I'm in Pony now, which is a nice little chat ls. Has been a bit quiet lately (although I'd hope people come back for 1.19).

Anyways. If you have any useful thoughts for me I'll check in here, or you can just poke me in game if you run into me there (Melian Epilleve).

To answer your questions,
1: We require vent
2: We don't use DKP or any point system because we are all adults and all speak freely about who and why people deserve items. Everyone knows they will get it eventually and as such we have no real quibbles over loot.
3: I do allow social LS's.

I am not sure on the rules and status of other shells, sorry! I don't keep up on the other shells much. You mentioned Llama though, they are still around I know.

Why do you hate vent so much? lol. I used to always use TS in guild wars but vent is a lot better quality and better imo.
