I'm glad we received news about egi glamour, can't wait to see it happen.
I don't quite share the same sentiment about the "one egi for every role" posted here and the whole offhand reasoning, it's just too much dev work and time for a single class content which ends up benefitting a very marginal playerbase (only summoners and not even all of them), not to mention collateral effects like "Ramuh Stone -8 mil in the market board!" if the system is not handled properly.
New Egis are needed because a summoner should be able to summon every primal he/she defeated to stay true to its fantasy roots and I'm glad we may be receiving it in a few months, however the system should remain simple and intuitive by having a primal fill a role among the existing ones along the lines of:

Caster: Emerald Carby - Garuda Egi - King Moogle Mog Egi -Ramuh Egi - Enkidu Egi- Phoenix Egi- Bahamuth Egi - Warring Triad#3

Tank: Topaz Carby - Titan Egi - Shiva Egi- Bismarck Egi - Alexander Egi - Sephirot Egi

Melee: Ruby Carby - Ifrit Egi - Odin Egi -Leviathan Egi - Ravana Egi - Thordan Egi - Warring Triad#2

After somekind of new quest to summon a new egi we'd only need to have defeated its primal form and then swap our current active egis with somekind of "lore ritual" at some npcs/menus/etc as a workaround to "lore" reasons of our aether being limited to three pets.
Summoners would still need to do optional content like the Triad, Coil, Odin etc if they want to be able to summon specific egis not tied to the main scenario, if that's not enough we could even expand on this by having some Egis glow/look a bit differently if the EX encounter is completed.

Bonus suggestion : having the Egi flashing to its (smaller) primal form during Enkindle would be a nice throwback to oldschool "one hit move" summoners of early Final fantasy titles.

Sorry, I know it's been a month since the last post but I vehemently disagree with this suggestion. Some of us want the pet glamours for RP reasons and there sadly exists such thing as an optimal pet-class to use as a summoner for almost all situations in party content (that being the caster class). For example, my twin and I want to use Ravana and Bismarck skins respectively on our summoners. However in your proposed system we will have to sacrifice noticeable DPS output to do so, not to mention in my case it'd interfere with the actual tank's tanking, making some glamours effectively not a practical/possible choice. We do not feel this restriction is necessary. You're free to restrict yourself to your own themes of RP but don't mess with what other people want to do. This is a pet glamour system - let people have their pets look however they want.

This will not work like that.

Gear glamour system does not work like that for a reason that was stated already in Letter LIVE (one of the lasts, i don't remember which, sorry, no link for you!). It would require too much space and data storage to implement cross-class glamour.

Same will go with Pets i believe. Caster carbuncle is blue and is marked as caster. using it as a glamour for summon II would be same as glamouring Chaos Cuirass on a Ninja job.

This already works for armor glams if you take some time to browse. There are plated armors that casters can use to make themselves look like a DoW. Same goes the other way around. I'll even help you find those: Look for re-skins of dungeon armor that are crafted and says "All Classes". Only the weapons are truly restricted.

As for pets, how much data do you need to implement a small finite set of primals? As someone with an engineering background, I'm gonna say this should dim in comparison to the armor glams; the people coding the game would need to mess up big time to require a significant amount of storage.

I maintain my stance - the appearance of pets need not be restricted. Doing so would defeat the point of the system for quite some players who either A) have a favorite primal (that they can't use as a result) or B) are looking forward to this for RP reasons.

    Ask Yoshi :P
Maybe something with relational or keys in DB, maybe something with quota.
Your cause is glorious, but you should remember we have little impact on their decisions to be honest. Making things bold just in here won't change much until this will be posted in Questions To Procuders or during Twitch Live.

Oh, and those armors you talk about.
There is only one in entire game that allows you to look like DoW regardless of job. Light Steel Galerus. And this is recreation of dungeon lvl 44 drops. it has level 1 and was made especially becuase of people request.

Rest are level 15 dungeon recreation.
    And nothing more than that.
They are still class restricted, since you can obtain them only in Hall of the Novices.

Other level 1 clothes that can be used as glamours are special, and are not recreation of any armor in a game.
Rainbow Bustle, Company Tabard, Falconer's shirt.

There is no DoW armor that can be used as DoM except the thing i mentioned up here.

    So no, Myth Busted. :3
