    Do you think SE could do a reflect spell?

    I would love to see this spell in game, but it could not be used in its classical sense because reflect can last for a while reflecting all damage spells. Someone suggested making it work only on the first spell after the buff, but I think a better idea would be change it up a bit. First it would probably be a high level WHM spell, since reflect is typically a white Mage spell in the classical games and maybe make it a buff lasting 30s and have an effect like blocks 20-30% of magical damage for 30 seconds. All blocked damage is redirected to the attacker. So what do you think.

    Sure....if you never want to see SCH/AST setup again and make WHM required. It'd probably be best used as a self-defensive CD for WHM, so it doesn't impact balance too much.

    I'm not a caster player but from previous games a one spell reflect was always pretty cool. Especially in PvP getting someone to killingblow themselves.

    Closest thing to a reflect right now is Ifrit-egi's Radiant Shield. Maybe AST could get something similar in the future to differentiate their shields from SCHs.

    They won't do a reflect spell. Most enemies don't use standard spells in endgame setting. A spell that reflects flat magic damage would be great. Excellent on specific tankbusters if applied correctly. But they won't do that since they pride themselves on everything being a glorified DPS check.

    They could implement it while simply having certain boss moves that bypass/ignore the reflect effect. The Savage version of Mortal Revolution, from what I understand, ignores the effects of debuffs like Virus and Disable.

    such a skill is a bit overpowered because all the raidbusters do magic damage. and they always will do magic damage, because otherwise casters will not survive them (they have less HP but more Mdef than the other classes).

    but there are enemys with a reflect skill. leviathan and some of the adds in coil T4 (at least before the nerf xD)

    Maybe? As a WHM, I'd definitely be interested in a Reflect spell. Lore-wise it could be a water elemental magic? Somethin akin to Reflect is used by many primal and dungeon bosses past lvl 50.

    My thoughts:

    One-time use, stay active (if I read correctly)
    Pro:
    - Active until hit by magic dmg.
    - Need to recast per use. (PVP)
    - Reflect more damage.
    - Easier to balance vs buff.
    - PVP and PVE counters.

    Con:
    - Need to recast per use. (PVP)

    Buff
    Pro:
    30 s active: Convenience.
    X % damage reflection: PVE and PVP.
    100% - X% damage reduction: Damage reduction.

    Con:
    - Many similar damage reduction buffs exist, some cross-class.
    - Difficult to balance.

    Proposed middleground:
    10-15 s active. 1-3 min CD. Reflect 30-40% first attack, 15-20% second attack, 5-10% third attack, and 1% subsequent attacks. Damage not reflected goes through.

    Pro:
    - CC could be added.

    Con:
    - Learning when to use it.

    Duration 15 seconds
    Magical Damage taken is reduced by 20%
    Magical attacks taken by target cause a 50 potency return to the attacker. (based on the users current damage stat as it was casted)

    That's just a magic counter version of Warrior's Vengeance. Reflected attacks have always done either the same or double the damage back.
