Are the Leveilleur twins allowed to go home?

Possible spoilers for 2.5.

So in the midst of his funk in Camp Dragonhead after the Great Escape, Alphinaud asks where we are going to go. Which leads me to wonder why he didn't even mention possibly going back to Sharlayan. I would accept that we, Tataru, and Yugiri might not have been allowed entry as foreigners, but couldn't he go back alone? Or is that not an option for him anymore; that he, and by extension, Alisaie, has essentially been barred from going home for leaving as Louisoix did?

I'd imagine that they could, at least Alisae. Alphinaud's actions pretty much goes against what the Sharlayan mainland believe, so he's effectively banished.

Prior to 2.55 I was under the impression that he was in a decent relationship with his parents due to using the family money ... unless he was using the money Louisoix hidden in Eorzea.

Could he have? Probably. There wernt any laws or anything preventing him from going home.

Even Louisoix and the Archons weren't banished, they simply left with some people disagreeing with them. (Alphinode's Father being one of them)

The real question is, would he have considered it knowing the job was unfinished, and he's be leaving his sister and comrades behind to save his own neck? I don't even think he'd have considered that at his Lowest point.

Yeah, I wouldn't think that he would consider leaving us behind for a second, but wondering why he didn't mention Sharlayan as an option. What would make Sharlayan a non-option at that point in the story?

(Besides the fact that Ishgard is the whole point of Heavensward, of course.)

Ah, here I thought they were banished, but it does makes sense that they simply left. I'd imagine the Sharlayans would simply love to get whatever knowledge/ info people like the Scions and St. Coinloch.

While not banished, I think Louisoix et al. were/ are treated as social outcasts.

Additionally, under the current rulership in Sharlayan, they might not even be allowed out of Sharlayan once inside.

If you think Gridania and Ishguard are Xenophobic, Sharlyon Proper is far worse. As soon as they heard Garlemauld was headedndpr Eorzea they packed up and left without even considering helping.

And when Louisoix wanted to help they basically said "Yea go ahead But you won't get any help from us".

So Sharlyon are kind of Jerks. The Students of Baldesion being an associated but different facton from Sharlyon are who've been helping us till The Isle of Val was destroyed.

Alphinode and Alise are free to come home anytime they want, But The Arcons will be shuned just for TRYING to save the world and The WoL wouldn't be allowed at all.

I get the impression the Sons of St Coinloch have the forums permission to operate in Eorzea. Alphinaud didn't exactly sneak out but I suspect there was a lot very unhappy with him leaving. I suspect the argument that got him out of Shalayan was he was looking for his father cause the forum can and has banned people from leaving before, sometimes with force and Alphinaud being as young as he is could probably stopped rather easily if his father permitted it.

Regardless I don't think many of those who left Shalayan like that are exiled. If anything the Shalayan forum wants anyone with their knowledge firmly under their thumb. Certain elements within Shalayan can get downright ruthless in keeping Shalayan knowledge in Shalayan as shown in the AST quests.

Now I'm wondering if the reason why they share clothes is because they were cut off. Maybe all those times Alphinaud referred to his family funds, the cash really came from their private stash/whatever they were able to pilfer before leaving. Would explain why he went from 2.0 to 2.5 without once getting a coat despite complaining about the cold.

I didn't think that they came to Eorzea because they were exiled, rather that they left, and then the Sharlayan government declared them exiles for leaving. But I'm pretty fine with the forum trying to stay neutral, given how powerful Sharlayan knowledge and skills are. Louisoix managed to duel Bahamut by himself, and Alphinaud at 16 can more than hold his own in a fight.

That kind of power in the wrong hands could do so much worse than we've already seen, so maybe it's for the best that most of the Sharlayans want to stay out of it.

Im pretty sure they aren't exiled. Exiled means they cant go home. I suspect there are a fair number in the forum who would like to drag them home by force if they could.

As for forum neutrality, if the Shalayans had had their way Louisoix would have never left Shalayan for Eorzea and Eorzea would be a smoking ruin with a giant dragon primal ruling over it by now.

Allowed? Maybe, and dear old dad is probably waiting to give them each a spanking. Welcome? Probably not, I mean, Alphi did cause an entire nation (and almost a continent) to destabilize by doing the very thing Sharlayans forbid from doing. Alphi probably knows that, if he considered refuge in Sharlayan, he would never be allowed to return to Eorzea and, as someone pointed earlier, he's seeking redemption, and he won't find that hidden behind the forum (plus, he got to meet Matoya). Alisae is different, but being so close to her grandfather she's looking for the reasons HE had for protecting Eorzea, and making them her own, so I really don't think she'd fancy going back, either.

With that, I used to have this little backstory of my character being Sharlayan, then changed names and backstory to Doman after switching to Au Ra and...really, after the AST quests I couldn't help but think "damn, Sharlayans are a[kupo]"
