    3.2 Tomestones confusion

In the live letter, it was announced that Tomes of Soldiery will be removed and Law will no longer be obtainable.

Law tomes are used for relic turn in. Will that be replaced with Esoterics? What about Poetics? It's confusing that Law won't be available but Poetics (a lower grade) will?

Poetics is so level 50 players without HW can buy gear at Mor Dhona still, and will probably be used for everything relic wise (Zeta)
Eso basically becomes Law and you'll be using that for Anima Relic too.

It's safe to say that Esoterics will take over for law tomes in the relic quest chain because that has been the formula for relic quests every other time tomestones have been removed. As for poetics, I assume they're keeping them around because they're a level 50 tomestone and not from HW. That way there will still be some kind of tomestone reward for old level 50 content for players that haven't yet bought HW.

Level 50s without Heavensward exist, that's why Poetics are still a thing. Like previous relic lines, the now uncapped tomestones will be used to buy the turn ins, possibly at a slightly lower cost now that the relic will be outclassed as soon as the patch goes live.

It makes sense that Poetics stay for those still on 50 cap I guess. Using Eso instead of Law will make those easier to obtain but, for me, the bottle neck is the Poetics (especially on my Alt which doesn't have the beast tribe quests done for the extra 120 Poetics per day)

Relic won't be "outclassed" with the patch. It will be a needed step to the next relic evolution. At that time, it also makes sense to ease requirements for the 3.15 relic so that those just starting won't be as far behind.

Currently the Battle tab of the Currency menu lists 4 tomestones:

Soldiery - cannot be collected or used to purchase anything, but can be exchanged for Poetics
Poetics - can be collected by doing level 50 content and be used to purchase the level 50 i120/i130 "Ironworks" gear and various other things including two of the Unidentified objects used in the level 60 Anima Relic quest.
Law - can be collected by doing level 60 content and be used to purchase the level 60 i170/i180 "Domian" gear and various other things including two of the Unidentified objects used in the level 60 Anima Relic quest.
Esoterics - Weekly limited currency. can be collected by doing level 60 content and be used to purchase the level 60 i200 "Artifact" gear.

Come 3.2 the Battle tab of the Currency menu will list the following:

Poetics - Can be collected by doing level 50 content and be used to purchase the level 50 i120/i130 "Ironworks" gear and various other things including two of the Unidentified objects used in the level 60 Anima Relic quest.
Law - Cannot be collected or used to purchase anything, but can be exchanged for Esoterics.
Esoterics - Can be collected by doing level 60 content and be used to purchase the level 60 i200 "Artifact" gear and other various things including two of the Unidentified objects used in the level 60 Anima Relic quest.
Lore - Weekly limited currency. Can be collected by doing level 60 content and be used to purchase the level 60 unknown ilevel "Primal" gear.

Until they release Anima v2, as soon as 3.2 drops every weapon available from Containment Bay, Tomestones, Midas, everything, will statistically be better than the current 210 anima, purely based on how item level/vertical progression works.

Likewise, when the next anima stage comes out, what will be the current best weapon will be outclassed by the relic. It's a constant cycle.

Ya itll be interesting to see what they do with the new tome weapon. Normally they required raids to get the tome weapons in 2.0, and released the tome weapon outside of raids around the same time as relic got upgraded. I'll be pretty dissapointed if all you need for tome wpn is 2 weeks worth of tomes tbh. Historically the ex primals have never dropped weapons good weapons. Thordan was kind of an exception. i wouldn't expect them to be above 210.

So Law -> Eso and Eso will now be used for turn in of Unidentifiable Ore / Seeds. What's the guess on the exchange rate of Law to Eso and the amount of Eso needed for a Relic turn in? In other words, should you turn in your Law or horde it for the update?

You probably shouldn't horde Law if you still have Unidentified items to buy with it. Historically, you've been able to turn in the old tomestone at an exchange rate of 4:1 for the new one. While the cost of Unidentified Items will *probably* be reduced somewhat, it's unlikely that they would be reduced to as much of 1/4 of their current cost.
