Odd issue with Windows 10 and FFXIV

So I upgraded to Windows 10 back in Nov. and have had this odd issue where if i boot up any browser on any of my PCs hooked to my network all FFXIVs disconnect (typically my wife and I are playing) been looking for a cause for awhile but have yet to find a fix that works, if anyone has any ideas?

(I've tried all windows browsers chrome Firefox all same result, also some games when updating cause same thing World of tanks/warships. yet other online games do not cause this)

not having that problem myself, have you updated win 10 at all? go to cortana search for update and see if your pending one. failing that you may need a refresh on the system.

I did a fresh install in Jan when i Upgraded my G/card and everything runs sweet. win 10 the game and everything else. its a day off the game mind but might be worth it. also if you do this make sure to back up your character data so you dont have to redo macros/ action button positions etc and anything else you want to keep.

Do you have any extensions on the browsers that might be hogging the network? something that might have slipped through an installation and added itself to all your browsers?

Try resetting all browsers and checking your program and features for any rogue installations, (doubt it would be this if its on all PC's though)

I have done all updates on all the PCs with windows 10, I will dig through and see if there are any extensions that would do that but think only one I have is my Gmail plug in.

Been on Windows 10 since last August or so. Never had this particular issue.

I had nothing but issues from the Windows 10 upgrade. It left my system horribly slow and because of that a good chunk of my programs wouldn't work right. One of them being XIV. I could log in but it was so stuttery and laggy it wasnt worth it.

I ended up doing a clean install of Windows 10 a few days later and then everything worked perfectly. I am not sure why the upgrade hated me, but perhaps a clean install will help you?

Well I have some idea's maybe.

If you didn't uninstall your video card drivers after you upgraded that could be the problem, because you need windows 10 video card drivers for your graphics card.
Are you running DX11 on FFXIV try shutting it off and using DX9 instead maybe that could be the issue.

Uninstall browsers and FFXIV reinstall browser first then FFXIV after.

Try going to CMD admin and SFC /Scannow let it run see if you have another issue that it will repair, let it run.

Other than that, I would backup all your stuff then do a fresh install of everything if nothing works.

Would be best form of action if none of these things work.

That's a weird ass problem to be honest. The only thing I could possibly think of is maybe you have some really strange QoS settings that severely limit certain traffic types. when you open a browser.
but even then i would assume that to be a router issue more than a pc one.

few suggestions would be running a ping test / tracert to ffxiv servers with and without a browser open maybe there's a dodgy hop somewhere that gets throttled easily...

can you revert windows 10 to previous build and check that. or temporariliy install 7/8 in a dual boot environment / spare hdd. see if the problem persists.
