When will we get info on class changes?

Since it was noted that apparantly 30 GLA and 15 MAR would be a PLD. With that in mind what exactly makes MAR a requirement for PLD is it because of their parry abilities?

Marauder gives you Defender which would be pretty essential for a Paladin.
