all this talk "soon after 1.19" its all subjective. what you consider to be soon might not be the same as some1 else. i guess we will hear from them when their good and ready. we can wish for them to rush. but if they rush we will only complain its a rubbish job. they said they want our feedback. and from what i have seen they seem to be doing what they say, so let them ask for our feedback when they are ready.

P.S. they have recently put up a sticky thread for "ask the producer, live letter" so the must getting gearing up for this sooner rather than later

You're correct, time is relative and the perception thereof is entirely subjective.

But still, there's a line when something no longer is in the range of "soon." in this specific case they said they would release the information early enough to receive and consider player feedback. As of mid November, player feedback won't really matter.

While patches can usually be pushed back, 1.20 comes with the preassured of being released soon enough that players have a chance to try it before billing starts. So mid November seems somewhat late for thei two weeks of QA if they're shooting for an early December release.

all i am saying is as much as i want them to hurry and would love to play next patch. i'm quite happy to wait if that means for a better product

I don't think you quite follow what I'm getting at. I'm not asking them to rush out 1.20. Here's the quote from Yoshi I'm referencing: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...495#post292495

We’ll make the details of the planned changes available when 1.19 goes live, and monitor player feedback as a way to help define our direction. In the meantime, we’ll keep on performing balance tweaks to the current class system in coming sub-patches based on ongoing feedback from the community.

That is from Letter from the Producer XVI released 8/15/2011.

There's been a lot of talk recently about rebuilding trust, and how Yoshi feels that "delivering" on his promises over the past year are the reason they feel it's okay to begin charging fees shortly after 1.20. But yet here's an example of a promise not kept.

I was slightly incorrect in my OP. He didn't say "soon." He said when 1.19 is live.

This sort of a big deal. Imagine the people who leveled CNJ expecting to be a DD mage -- what if SE decides to make them the WHM? Granted jobs won't be released till 1.21, but in 1.20 one mage will have priority on nukes and the other on curing essentially meaning half of what CNJ currently is will be gone. We know this much because Yoshida said when we see the class changes for 1.20, we'll know without doubt which will be WHM and which will be BLM.

Or people like me who leveled MRD to be a tank. Will my one class at 50 be just another rank and file DD now?

I'm not saying I'll rage quit or anything over the information. Whatever, I got to play a game essentially for free for a year. But in the face of such large change, I'd like to know how to proceed.

I know several players who essentially are on halt right now because they're waiting for this information. Because materia all but demands a player level some DoH classes. But which are largely dependent on the classes/jobs we wish to play. So what are we to do till 1.20 drops without knowing what are classes are to become?

I don't think it's asking too much to inquire what happened to the information we were supposed to receive and offer feedback on weeks ago.
