As much as I hope for this, I sincerely doubt it. The devs dislike Omni-crafting and generally seem to want to force people down a more linear path of "pick one or two crafts."
They said they would be adding new items you could purchase with red scrips. I'm guessing you will be able to direct purchase mats needed for new gear with red scrips. Maybe some items are only thru crafter scrips and some only thru gather scrips but won't necessarily rely on each other like the current Favors setup. This could be why they said mats would be easier to obtain.
I don't think any of the new stuff will be accessed via current red tokens or mats because they already exist en masse in the game. Anytime new tier stuff is released it's essentially a fresh start so relying on older currencies is rarely a thing.
If you need to go thru the same crap that was favors in order to crafts I'll lose it. And they didn't say if the new recipes are specialist only either. If they are then I wouldnt be able to afford the new glamor which makes me sad.

I'd expect a mix of specialist and general recipes. I could see them splitting the recipes between the two in a variety of ways; I just wish they would scrap the Specialist system altogether.
I doubt they will split it based on they made the latest mats for other classes specialist only. I don't want to pay hundreds of thousands of gil just for mats.

Rumors I've heard somewhere.
1) the materials to make the new battle gear and accessories will be easily obtainable.
2) stat requirements to craft them will be high.
And I've been told if you have i170 set melded "you will be fine".
:x

Mmmhmm,
In other words those of us who have not been grinding red scrips will be screwed on being able to make any of these until we grind out... how many weeks of red scrips?
Hopefully crafting materia will be significantly more accessible so we can meld out our 150 gear to grind/make/meld 170 to grind/meld/make whatever else they throw at us...
Or do we expect to see a new set of craftable cross-class crafting gear?
It seems really early to be doing this. The class-specific stuff from 2.0 wasn't fully replaced until 2.5, and there's a lot of people out there who aren't even close to having full blue gear in the current cycle yet.
The big question is whether they're going to move through tiers of scrips at the same rate as tomes. If so, then we would see blue scrips become obsolete, red scrips become uncapped, and a new set of scrips added. If they do, I would expect to see some new gear come out of it (new tools, if they keep to the pattern from 2.X) and it would become a good deal easier to catch up on the blues/greens that are out now.

whater thay do i just fucking hope its not behind more bullshit gated content x-x

I guess mâts will be folklore gathering point...
But i hope they will also reduced the cost for those folklore book.
So it would be easy to gets mats !
And I smell specialist recipe coming... Like the skypirate stuff
